It would appear that both the wind damage and tornado threat is increasing for Friday afternoon and evening ahead of a potent QLCS. Gusts to 70mph and a few tornadoes seem increasingly likely from DC northward.

A Civil Emergency Message is in effect for all of Los Angeles County in California, due to the threat of fast spreading wildfires.
Dangerous Red Flag conditions will result in fires spreading very quickly. If you feel unsafe near a fire, leave ASAP, do not wait for official guidance or evacuations orders.

First snowfall for Caribou, ME of the season. It is accumulating on cold car surfaces and grass. #mewx

Low-topped convective line appears likely Friday ahead of a cold front. At the least, this may pose a straight-line wind threat. Trends in LL shear should be monitored re QLCS tor threat. Strong LL shear is present, but line-normal comp. does not seem exceeding large atm.

A few rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible today, with a few storms that could become severe this afternoon. However, due to the morning activity, the amount the atmosphere can become unstable continues to remain uncertain, and therefor forecast confidence is low.

Tornado warnings continue to pile up in eastern North Carolina. With more than 10 tornadoes already reported, and damage confirmed. We are on track for a regional tornado outbreak from Isaias across the Carolinas.
My home away from home state popped off today!
Yeah, so South Carolina popped off today. I’m honestly not sure how many of these stills are the same tornado, but I can confirm at least 3 separate tornadoes, including one from a completely different storm. I genuinely lost track of how many tornadoes actually occurred today. This has to be South Carolina’s most significant tornado outbreak in over a decade, right? Still trying to process what an absolutely WILD day this has been, and I got to experience it with some of my best friends! @BrandonCopicWx @FreddyMcKinneyR @StormRunnerWX @ChrisHallWx
