Watching Bill Maher talk about Macklemore was so disingenuous. He completely misrepresented what Macklemore said in the Kraft owned stadium. He can challenge what he said but don’t lie. So frustrating.

The world is experiencing an omni-crisis. Things appear to be getting worse and people are talking about it. Why can't we sort these various crises out? It seems to me that the old adage of "divided we fall" is playing out all over the internet and social media. We have very little coordination, so good people are unable to act effectively. All I can say is that we all need to wake up and demand the world we actually want rather than watch as it self destructs. My hope is that a powerful cultural movement will emerge and that ordinary citizens - who don't want war, who don't want violence, who want to solve climate change, and want to provide every citizen with a life of peace and dignity- will be empowered to take decisions away from the selfish powers that dominate our planet. I'm happy to be patient Zero in this movement. Who is with me?

You know when people say that the Overton window has moved to the right? i.e. we now see policies from the BNP in 2010 as mainstream for parties like Reform. Well I think the level of acceptable cruelty has also moved. Just look at the shameful reactions to the death of Jason Arday.

Does anyone else feel like we have crossed a line as a planet? I'm not just talking about climate change but a real sense that everything is falling apart? Look what is happening to democracy, the truth and inequality. There is a popular contempt for the poor and dispossessed which runs counter to everything I was raised to believe. America is run by craven opportunists and unserious people. AI is looking to take agency away from humanity at scale. We can't agree on anything and we are all pretending that life goes on as normal. In the Soviet Union they called it Hypernormalisation - the dissonance between what we see and what we tell ourselves is happening around us. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY. WE CAN MAKE THINGS BETTER BUT WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER.

Congratulations to Arsenal. Amazing achievement and in particular to Mikel Arteta. Watching how he has changed the culture and improved the players is a joy. A great leader and a great example.

I have a fix for the ridiculous Antifa purge. Obviously we all know that Antifa is not a real thing and they are having to make up a mystery enemy in order to put boots on the ground. Anyone who has seen the film Spartacus should simply tweet or make a video saying the following “Hello my name is xxxx and I like Democracy, Freedom of Speech, the right to assembly, the right to quality information and the right to live in harmony with my neighbour. I am also against Fascism or Anti Fascist (Antifa for short)”

President Trump yet again had the opportunity to do something meaningful re Russia but time and again he demurs. The rest of NATO should push back hard and assume that the US is no longer our partner. It is sad that we can no longer rely on the US.
