Apple has shown people will pay for premium apps. If an artist has 100,000 dedicated fans and even 5% buy the app/album… 5,000 × $10 = $50,000 gross from a launch that isn’t dependent on streaming payouts. Then Spotify and Apple Music still exist as marketing funnels.

I released my first iPhone app 15 years ago. It was called 'Chili Shooter'. It was supposed to be a russian roulette game, but after months of fighting with Apple's app store rules, we changed it so you shoot a bottle of chili sauce on your head, instead of the classic gameplay. I didn't develop it, I designed it, I thought it would be a fun project to use AI to bring back...🧵
