It’s also worth noting that that candour came in a setting where media were asked to leave the room. So, presumably, Farrell thought she was in an in-camera setting.
Sounds like total candour from Dawn Farrell to the BC AFN. No platitudes or blowing smoke. Don’t know how it hit in the room, but I’ve gotta respect it.
“The projects that we have to deliver out of our office have to achieve your rights. We have to make sure that we go through your processes,” Farrell said.
“We can’t just make stuff up. The courts will just come and overturn the projects and we’ll be like Canada’s always been, 10, 15 years, dragging stuff around in the ditch and not getting it done and wasting time and money and resources, and your time and your people’s resources. We can’t keep doing that.”

Major Projects CEO Dawn Farrell told First Nations in B.C. today that the frustrations expressed over a lack of consultation made her feel like Canada is "never going to work," but her office is determined to try.

Had a chance to sit down with Michael J. Fox this afternoon.
On Canada-US relations, he said the relationship between Canadians and Americans on a “human level” remains strong, despite the actions of “one guy throwing mud at the wall.”

Had a 1on1 with David Suzuki this week.
The man who brought Canadians into the world of science and nature on TV has shifted his tone from educational, to exasperation.
Here's my chat with Suzuki on climate, Carney, and the "fucked up" global economy:

Dear @MarkJCarney we want to bring the relationship with Canada to the highest level possible.
I would like to work with you on opening the door for Canada to being the first associate member of the EU.
And create a common prosperity and economic security space.
Good morning Canada. I’m on the ground in Strasbourg, France where Prime Minister Mark Carney attended the State of the Union address at the EU this morning.
In her address, Ursula von der Leyen said Europe wants Canada to be its 1st associate member:

President Trump was not in the vicinity of the World Trade Center when it was hit. He was in Trump Tower, miles away from the towers and nearby One Liberty Plaza, which is/was also known as the US Steel building.
There was public concern in the days following the attack that One Liberty Plaza might collapse, but the authorities repeatedly said it was structurally sound, and there's not currently any public evidence Trump went into it amid these collapse worries (?), much less that he was rushed out by firefighters. In varying language, he has repeatedly claimed for years he was at Ground Zero with a large crew of his workers helping with the recovery in the days after 9/11, but people who were definititely on site have said they never saw him or a Trump-organized crew on site and that it wouldn't make sense for them to have had access; there are pictures and videos of Trump in the neighborhood in the following days, in a clean suit, but not on the actual site.
While campaigning in 2016, he told a version of today's story about being whisked away from One Liberty Plaza by big firemen, but he said in 2016 that the alleged incident happened "a couple of days" after 9/11 and claimed the creaky building was "not so far from us," instead of leaving open the impression he might've been a) inside it b) on 9/11 itself. xitter.cf/Acyn/status/2097340291…
Trump on 9/11: I was building a big building in New York, and I took the whole crew down there right after this happened., Wasn't too much we could do. We had other buildings, the United States steel building was creaking. I'll never forget two firemen. We thought it was coming down on top of us, and two firemen. Big, strong guys. And I'm not the smallest guy in the world. They grabbed me under the arms. They got to get out of here. And they literally lifted me up. This is not easy to do. I'm big. They lifted me up and they started running with me. I said, fellas, I can run myself.

👀 Just wow. Fake AI Inuit journalist complete with human avatar.
Northern Canada is susceptible/targeted for disinformation campaigns as it is.
Leah Qammaniq, an Inuk journalist raised in the North, understands first-hand the issues that she reports on in Nunavut. She also is not real.
