Three years ago today, Nottingham Panthers forward Adam Johnson tragically lost his life during an Elite League Challenge Cup game. The Elite League, its fans, and the entire ice hockey community will never forget Adam.
Adam, and all those affected, are in our thoughts today.
Hearing @stevenpage’s new single “Cheese Log” is getting me all festive, and it’s still October! 🥳 🧀
Am I getting “Whatever” (Oasis) vibes…? 😎

Started the 3rd in a state of shock after Coventry grabbed their only lead of the night, but came back and controlled the period well. Nice idea to ride a hot Fazio over both games this weekend … still in it to win it! 🏆 #flameslive
Final: Flames 2 - Blaze 1. Long 6-on-5 for the visitors to close out the third, but no joy… Flames do enough to hold on to that valuable late goal advantage and send the Blaze to a critical cup defeat #flameslive
Flames GOOOOOAAALLL!! 🔥🔥 2-1 Lavoie from Busch @57:05 A HUGE late goal fired in from the right side of the slot! Could it be enough??! #flameslive
End 2nd: Flames 1 - Blaze 1. Sparks of life in this one, as both teams find the net. Guildford really not taking this one seriously - massively outshot, and struggling to find any coherent offensive passes: missing the big body up front #flameslive
Flames GOOOOAALLl! 🔥 1-1 Sanford from Waller and Gosselin from @36:12 Smashed in front of goal for the equaliser! #flameslive
Blaze goal 0-1 Richardson from Kaspick @34:58 Well-placed shot up top on Fazio to finally get the scoring underway in this one - Ducharme caught up ice didn’t help with defensive coverage there. #flameslive
End 1st: Flames 0 - Blaze 0. Absolute C-tier hockey from Guildford to open this game. Jacome caught in the face from the opening faceoff and the Flames never found a good pass in the first 20. Luckily, Coventry haven’t tested Fazio hard yet… #flameslive
Ready for faceoff: Guildford Flames vs Coventry Blaze. Was a stormy affair back in the preseason but the weather’s outside tonight - looking for maximum Challenge Cup points tonight … and a little help from the 🍊 #flameslive

End OT: Flames 3 - Storm 3. Manchester looked content to test Fazio on penalties for the extra point #flameslive
End 3rd: Flames 3 - Storm 3. Guildford have outshot Manchester 62:38 over the three periods!! Sadly, hasn’t translated to an advantage tonight (so far) #flameslive
Storm goal 3-3 Dudek from Nardi @47:41 Guildford’s defence gets tied up on its skates and gifts an open shot to Dudek #flameslive
Flames GOOOAALLL!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 3-2 Sanford from Gosselin @46:15 Finally, the breakthrough - looked like it slipped through the 5-hole from distance but a great effort to get up close on Weninger for a change! Gosselin getting a nice points haul tonight too! #flameslive
End 2nd: Flames 2 - Storm 2. Guildford raining shots down on Weninger’s net, but nothing to show for it. Too many shots at bad percentage angles - need to get creative to beat his skill level, especially on the powerplay #flameslive
End 1st: Flames 2 - Storm 2. Tempers flaring at the buzzer but Manchester roared back into life after falling behind by two goals. #flameslive
Storm goal 2-2 Cutler from Kudla @16:55 Wow - excellent goal from Cutler who spins to get away from Power and completely confounds Fazio on his release point - a really well-worked goal off the back of a good penalty kill for the visitors #flameslive
