I’ve seen a lot said about Ed Miliband meeting the Islamic regime foreign minister. But this concise article by @JakeWSimons says it best:
“When jihadists are your underdogs and democracies are your oppressors, you’ve lost the moral argument.”
Our Foreign Secretary should take the time to consider how his handshake looks to the many thousands of Iranian parents “whose children were slaughtered like animals on the streets, or blinded and castrated with shotguns, or hanged for the crime of wanting freedom, or executed by armed men as they lay in hospital.”

Danny Tommo does a better job of defending our borders than the Home Office, and is arrested for his trouble
You get better data from independent research than rom the ONS.
Independent analysts make better forecasts than the OBR.
Bitcoin and gold are both better money than whatever the Bank of England is currently debasing.
You get better knowledge online than you do at school or university.
AI diagnoses most things faster and more accurately than a GP.
You get more truth about Covid origins and vaccines online than you do from the medical establishment.
Self-driving cars are better than TfL.
Lime bikes are better than Boris bikes.
A private pension lets you own and manage your own retirement assets rather than state-mandated bond buying.
You can buy a prefab house online for less than £100,000. The problem is where to put it. Which wouldn't be a problem were it not for planning laws.
What gets subsidised should be decided by the person paying for it
And on and on.
Everywhere you look, the private sector does a better job, to a higher standard and for a lower price.
So what, exactly, is the point of the state?

How come we have not had one word from our Government about the out of control cost of living in the UK - people are starting to panic about the winter. I am literally hearing people panick constantly at what is coming. Our politicians are hyper-focused on their conference platforms, their own image & taking swipes at each other.

Piers Morgan asked Marwan Barghouti’s son Arab if his father told him he had killed ppl. Arab says no and his father would never target civilians. That’s a lie of course. Even Amnesty called out Barghouti for repeatedly saying that Israeli settlers were legitimate targets. Barghouti was convicted of orchestrating the murder of five civilians, three of whom were killed in Tel Aviv.
I wish Piers had been more robust and challenged him on that. @piersmorgan

Get rid of Fiona Bruce who just interrupts all the time. And FFS put Andrew Neil onto prime time TV. That guy knows his stuff. We badly need journalism of Andrew Neil’s quality, knowledge and depth.
🫣 Andrew Neil dismantles Labour’s Jonathan Reynolds in one of the most embarrassing moments of the year for the Business Secretary.
You’d think they’d know better, especially sat next to Andrew Neil — the best political journalist in the country, and better than just about anyone with stats, figures and detail.
Reynolds is on @bbcquestiontime boasting about the changes his government has made to get people off benefits and into work. Neil stops him in his tracks:
“Hold on. Your own official forecasts, the Office for Budget Responsibility, under the policies you’ve just talked about, show a relentless rise in the numbers claiming sickness benefit.”
Reynolds is already beginning to panic. He doubles down: “But the incentives have been changed. The amount of money you get has been changed.”
Neil: “Well it doesn’t matter if the numbers are still rising.”
That’s when Reynolds’ brain leaves the building. He says something that makes absolutely no sense given what Neil has just revealed:
“People talk about what they would like to do and what they would do with a system they left behind and then didn’t change. That’s the kind of substantial change that actually makes a difference.”
Can these politicians actually hear themselves? Does he know what he’s saying in response to what he’s just been told? It’s incredible.
Neil is totally baffled by what he’s listening to: “What substantial change have you made if the sickness numbers are still rising?”
Reynolds is now just digging in because he’s got nowhere to go: “If you remove the incentive for people to go straight onto that system, rather than being on universal credit…”
Neil cuts in with another reality check: “But the OBR forecast takes that policy into account and it still shows the numbers rising year after year after year, as does the bill. So what are you doing to make things better?”
Reynolds refuses to acknowledge what Neil is saying and just repeats the same things again.
Painful. They really are absolutely clueless. They think they can just deliver the talking points and no one will notice. That doesn’t work when you’re sat next to @afneil.
Imagine when they told him the seating plan and he realised who was sitting next to him. 😬😂

I didn’t cherry pick. I chose Europe’s three biggest economies to compare with UK. We grew faster than them all. But let’s take your metric — the whole EU. Since 2021 we’ve grown 17%, EU 13%. I guess there’s a reason you have ‘thick’ in your anonymous moniker. We will never communicate again.
As for the economy...@afneil you cannot just cherrypick which countries you want to mention. The EU as a whole has grown faster than the UK. Certain major European countries were far more affected by the war in Ukraine because of the energy/gas issue. You know this.

I don't know about anyone else, but all I want is to live in a country where justice is fair and proportionate.
It shouldn't matter what your politics are, whether you're rich or poor, or what your background is.
Everyone should be treated the same.
