My thoughts are with the Heber-Overgaard community after a reported tornado. My administration is actively coordinating with Navajo County Emergency Management on sheltering and support. I am grateful for the first responders on site who are assisting the impacted area.
We stand ready to deploy resources to assess damage, and I’ve directed DEMA, DPS and ADOT to work hand-in-hand with county officials on recovery efforts.

ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News have joined CNN in suspending pool coverage of Trump after he banned CNN from the White House.

I had to say goodbye to my sweet Larry boy this weekend.
I don’t even know how to start describing what the past ten and a half years have been like with Larry as my loyal sidekick. He was my cuddle buddy, my road trip copilot, and really what turned my house into a home. I'm sure so many of you can relate to this, but I can't get over how silent the house is. How still it is. How empty it feels.
Larry's backstory was always a colorful one. He was rescued by MSCO from a suspected puppy mill in Tonopah in 2015 and was 2-3 years old at the time. He'd go on to spend a few months in MCSO's Mash Unit, which is where we first met. Instanly, I saw that his tongue was out and couldn't help but fall in love with that little face. It was then that I realized love at first sight truly does exist.
From our very first night together, Larry jumped in the bed and wanted to sleep right next to me. It was like he knew instantly that this was his home, that I was his dad, and that we would embark on a beautiful journey together, learning new things about one another every single day. At first, Larry didn't know how to walk on a leash and didn't even play with toys - but little by little, his bubbly personality would reveal itself - it was truly rewarding to see him grow into the dog he was always meant to be, but never had a chance to before. It showed me that love and patience can really move mountains.
I never knew his birthday, so I decided I needed to spoil him every single day - That way I was guaranteed never to miss it. We also celebrate our adoptiversary every year on December 23 - I always said Larry was the best Christmas gift I could have ever received.
And he proved to be the gift that kept on giving. Our more than decade together was full of so much joy. Random nights at home on the couch, trips to the beach, walks around Phoenix. I love how people would stop and gush over him (he liked it, too.)
And what I also loved...is how much all of you loved Larry. On many occasions, I would be out reporting and someone would come up to me and ask how he was or if he was with me or wanted to see a picture. I think one of Larry's many gifts is that he sparked a sense of joy in people, even if it was me posting photos or videos online over the years. I love that you were all able to get a glimpse into what he was like everyday for me.
Larry was there by my side through everything - the highs, the lows, the regular boring days that he would manage to make exciting and entertaining. He was always there to reassure me that everything would be okay - and that no matter what, he loved me, even if I didn't always feel so loveable.
One of my proudest moment was when Larry got to be on bilboards along the I-10 for a story we were promoting about dog DNA kits (he was a 100% French Bulldog, of course.)
Isn't it amazing how an animal can teach us how to be more human? How to reach into the inner depths of our hearts? And to love as unconditionally as they do? That's what Larry did for me. He surprisingly became one of life's greatest teachers. Please if you can and if it makes sense for your family, consider rescuing. It was one of the best decisions I ever made and paid in off in so many amazing ways I never could have forseen.
Although our time together here on this earth has ended, Larry will always be in my heart. Nothing can change that. It was an honor to be his daddy. The house may be feel a little quieter, the bed may feel a little emptier, but my heart is full of so much love.
Until we meet again, my sweet boy. Daddy loves you so much. Thank you for loving me ❤️
