Robots at #RISCVSummitChina powered by @spacemit_riscv #k3 . Very impressive, especially the four legged one which can do backflips
Great to be in Shenzhen this week #RISCVSummitChina . Workshop day off to a strong start, with @risc_v branded water bottles. Exhibition booths all being built ahead of tomorrow's grand opening
My @EPCCed PhD student Jake Davies' tutorial video giving a walkthrough of the @tenstorrent Tensix architecture, explaining how it works and how AI/ML workloads are mapped to it. Everything he wished he knew when he started working with the hardware! youtu.be/WcljPiCl5eM?si=dyDS…
TEAS is a new AI benchmark that maps the true cost, performance & trade-offs of agentic AI across diverse hardware. Developed by University of Edinburgh, EPCC & Imperial College London, TEAS shifts the industry focus towards a hardware suitability map. edin.ac/4yisw3E
Great talk by Dan Schechter about @NextSilicon 's use of @risc_v at #PPAM #RISCV workshop. Really interesting to hear updates about Arbel CPU, and a few more technical details showing the serious capability it will provide, exciting for #hpc
Lots of interesting comparison results published across hardware, with a whole load more to be published in the coming months!
We're tracking agentic workflows on emerging hardware!
Developing next-generation accelerators requires benchmarking them on realistic and agentic AI workloads.
With @ARIA_research's Scaling Compute programme, we are releasing TEAS 🍵, serving 5 models (4B to ~1T total) on 9 accelerators for 6 workloads.

TEAS 🍵 reports cost, accuracy, performance (both user experience and system output), and energy estimates. Accuracy confirms run validity and can reveal available trade-offs.

We hope TEAS 🍵 helps hardware teams in Britain and around the world scale compute more efficiently. Built at @EdinburghUni, @EPCCed, and @imperialcollege.

It's been a lot of fun working with @PontiEdoardo , @luo_mai , @adrianjhpc and many others developing this benchmarking suite across next-generation architectures for agentic AI workloads

"IEEE 754 isn't fit for purpose and deserves to be replaced" John Gustafson kicks off day two at #PPAM describing the limitations of floating point and how he designed posits, and b-posits, to address those issues across scientific computing and ML. Fascinating talk
Great first day at #PPAM, had lots of fun in Poznań running on PCSS's quantum computer as part of their quantum tutorial
One of my PhD students Rich Neale has been exploring the @risc_v #ETSoC1 now part of @AIFoundryorg @Ainekk0 for #HPC. Some impressive performance and energy numbers given its age, looking forward to seeing the follow-on being developed at the moment!
Just can't express in words how excited I am about research that one of our long standing @AIFoundryorg community members Rich is doing with @EPCCed
Here's a teaser:
P.S. also, still amazed that ET-SoC-1 that was taped out ~5 years ago still holds its own in 2026
Very well done David! It was a pleasure to be at @BSC_CNS last week and examine you on this, you have done some really impressive work around optimising task based models for #HPC and enabling disparate runtimes to cooperate and share resources
🎆 We have a new BSC #PhD!
David Álvarez Robert, from the System Tools and Advanced Runtimes (STAR) group, has successfully defended his #PhDThesis!
💪 Well done, David! Good luck in your career ahead!
