Being less humane is good??
I said that this government would clear the backlog of asylum decisions by the end of 2023. That’s exactly what we’ve done. Over 112,000 cases are now cleared with a lower grant rate than last year, a key part of our plan to stop the boats.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Legacy cases refer only to people in the asylum system on 28 June 2022. 4,500 asylum cases have been reclassified as “complex” but these have been counted as resolved. 17,000 asylum cases have been withdrawn from the process with no further explanation. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politi…

Change happens Change is usually good
The “NIL is ruining college sports” mantra is being championed by former athletes who never had access to NIL money. Here’s the thing: they should have had NIL, too. But also, let’s stop pretending as if boosters weren’t walking around P5 campuses with duffel bags pre-NIL. Relax.

“Federalism is a mode of government that combines a general government (the central or "federal" government) with regional governments (provincial, state, cantonal, territorial, or other sub-unit governments) in a single political system, dividing the powers between the two.”
A @jonsopel prediction: The Supreme Court will unanimously vote against the Colorado ruling. It is for the American people to decide if Donald Trump runs for president again, not the courts. 🇺🇸 Coming to @GlobalPlayer

Why bother? The court is stacked. Everyone knows how this will go
23 years after the landmark Bush v. Gore, SCOTUS again faces a momentous decision about a presidential election: A ruling from Colorado will likely force it to decide if states can ban Trump from the ballot using the Constitution's insurrection clause. trib.al/9aoCKQ9

We believe Apple will be the first $4 trillion market cap by the end of 2024 given the pace of growth and monetization we estimate for Cupertino over the next year. On a sum-of-the-parts valuation we believe the Services business is worth $1.5 trillion to $1.6 trillion. 🍎📱🔥🐂

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Do you think Trump is a threat to democracy? RON DeSANTIS: No. Look, I think Donald Trump. when he was president, I think that he really didn't take some of the action he could have constitutionally taken.
