We are greatly saddened to hear that Patricio Guzmán died today aged 85 in Paris. The great chronicler of Chile ever since his monumental The Battle of Chile 1975-76 all the way through years of exile to My Imaginary Country in 2022. We were privileged to have released here his last four films – Nostalgia for the Light, The Pearl Button, The Cordillera of Dreams and My Imaginary Country. On the left is Patricio Guzmán filming The Cordillera of Dreams, and on the right from top to bottom, the searchers for the bones of the disappeared in Nostalgia for the Light, survivors of an Allende regime camp reunited in The Pearl Button, and present day Santiago protestors in My Imaginary Country.
