Bill C-22, the Canadian Disability Benefit Act passes in the Senate today. We celebrate those who will receive the benefits of the legislation, and highlight the absence of supports for the most vulnerable disabled people.

"With Indigenous communities being devastated and far-right extremists sowing the seeds of conspiracy, what’s unfolding is a dangerous sign of what’s to come if we continue to let Big Oil and the corporate elite set the political agenda." - @EmmaJackson57 breachmedia.ca/2023-alberta-…

Never promote overwork. It's not a sign of passion or dedication, it's misguided & deeply unhealthy.

In hearings today, prosecutors tried to argue that protesters were guilty of terrorism simply because they were "part of a group". They're trying to claim that being at a protest against Cop City is a crime - that it makes protesters members of a criminal organization. [thread]

One of the main features of living in a carceral state is through the deployment of regular people as Cops. Focusing solely on removing the police from “mental health crisis situations” or abolishing police forces isn’t even enough. We need to decarcerate *ourselves.*

Another person I know has Covid, surprised how bad they feel. They asked where to get monoclonal antibodies, thought Paxlovid was OTC, were surprised they got sick because they "thought Covid was over" and "had a booster." Our govt, public health & media have FAILED the public.

The more I experience the peer-review process, the more I think about how antithetical it is to decoloniality. I think of the reviewers claiming to do the real “decolonial” work while doing everything in their power to gatekeep what was never theirs to gatekeep in the 1st place.
