Jane Street makes trades in under 100 nanoseconds. at that speed, even a cpu is too slow - the answer starts leaving before the data has fully arrived this is what people miss about quant trading: the smartest model doesn't always win. the one that answers in time does. some trades run on an FPGA wired to the network. others take microseconds, milliseconds, or hours - more time buys a smarter decision. - fastest systems make the simplest calls - slower models process more information - many predict one thing: what an asset is actually worth quant trading isn't about running the biggest model - it's knowing exactly how much intelligence each millisecond can afford.
Wall Street does not try to predict one future. It generates thousands of them and lets probability decide what the answer should be. The model is Monte Carlo Simulation: π ≈ 4 · Ninside / Ntotal Throw random points into a square with a circle inside it. Some land inside the circle, some outside. One point means nothing. A hundred are noisy. But as N grows, the ratio starts converging toward 3.14159. That is the law of large numbers in motion. The same idea is used in finance. If a payoff is too complex to solve directly, quants simulate thousands of possible market paths, calculate the result in each one, and average them. The breakthrough came from Stanislaw Ulam, John von Neumann and Nicholas Metropolis at Los Alamos. The strange idea was that randomness itself could be turned into a computational tool. But the math has a cost: error ∝ 1/√N Cut the error in half, and you need roughly 4x more simulations. Want 10x more precision, and you may need about 100x more work. That is why early estimates jump everywhere. Then the cloud fills in, the noise cancels, and one stable number emerges. Wall Street uses the same structure for option pricing, risk models and portfolio simulations. the edge was never removing randomness. it is generating enough of it that the randomness averages itself out.

most people use one ai for everything - power users match each model to the one job it's best at here's the 2026 cheat sheet. there's no single best ai, and the wrong pick quietly costs you quality every day. > code, writing and deep reasoning: Claude Opus 4.6 leads, and its thinking mode is best for complex tasks and plain text-to-text > images: ChatGPT edits one thing and preserves the rest - likeness, lighting, composition; Gemini's nano banana a close second > video: Gemini's Veo 3.1 for text-to-video with synced audio, Grok for image-to-video and real-time answers from X the model isn't the flex - knowing which one to open is. save this and stop forcing one ai to do every job.

Anthropic quietly dropped 11 free plugins that turn claude into your entire back office one per role - sales, marketing, finance, and so on - almost nobody has installed them yet. it's not a prompt you paste - each plugin comes pre-loaded so claude already knows how that job works, and is wired into the tools that role uses every day. > install once and stop re-explaining what a good brief or clean report looks like > drop in the sales plugin - it researches a prospect and drafts the outreach > drop in the finance one - it pulls your numbers into a clean report soon solo operators run a whole company like this - the ones installing now are ahead. i find these before they blow up.

The most feared bettor in Vegas puts $2 million at risk every Sunday, and no bookmaker can prove a single bet is his. Billy Walters runs his book like a quant fund - and in 30 years he never had a losing one. He never places a bet himself. His partners sit inside the sports books under code names, jbird and Wolfman, and fire his orders the second he calls. His analysts modeled weather, injuries and line moves for decades and never once met each other. Only Walters saw the whole board. The edge was never picking winners. It was pricing games better than the people setting the odds, then betting only when the line was wrong. Any book that spotted him stopped taking his action. So he stayed a ghost. Thirty years unbeaten in the one place built to beat you. Then Wall Street, not the casinos, put him in prison.

OpenMontage turns claude code into a full ai video studio - and it's open source and free 12 pipelines, 100+ tools, 700+ agent skills - almost nobody has it running yet. it's not a text-to-video button - it's an agent that runs the whole production: you describe the video, it writes the script, generates visuals, records voiceover and edits the cut. > it pulls real info from the web before every generation, so the video isn't generic > makes explainers, trailers, ads and educational videos in one place > runs locally and free - no cloud tools, no per-render bill in a few months this is how solo creators ship video - the ones running it now are ahead. i find these before they blow up.

this guy in china makes a million a year while he sleeps. no code, no employees - ai builds it all for him he tells Claude "build a text-to-video app on Sora for realtors, add subscriptions" - 24 hours later it's done: code, interface, domain, copy. he's not building one company - he ships dozens of tiny tools for narrow niches: editors for dentists, voice tools for podcasters. $29-99/mo. > a dentist won't open ChatGPT, but pays $49 for one built just for dentists > one guy wraps Sora and Veo into a product that fixes one problem > idea - Claude builds it - deploy - market the niche - charge - repeat everyone chases a unicorn - he runs 50 small profitable ones that print on their own.

everyone says "just learn to code." this game hands you a farm to automate - and the python writes itself into your head in The Farmer Was Replaced you write real python to run a drone that plants, waters and harvests. you start with two lines and a single command. an hour later loops, conditions and functions are running your whole farm - and you never opened a tutorial. > start with a couple of lines, the drone already does something > loops and functions sneak in because you need to farm more field > it's real python, not pseudocode - the skill carries into real projects everyone treats learning to code as homework - this turns it into a game you don't want to close.

AI companies tell you "no more bad jobs, go paint." To each other, they call human labor a tax. to us it's freedom - do what you love, we'll hand you money. behind the scenes, ai is "productivity without the tax of human labor." every company has one incentive: cut costs. so they swap expensive humans for ai - and the money that fed millions of workers now flows to about 5 companies. > old automation killed one job at a time - the elevator man, the bank teller > ai can automate almost every kind of human labor at once > musk calls one robot, optimus, a $25 trillion opportunity they're not racing to help society - they're racing to build a god and make trillions, and the wealth stops at 5 doors.

A single prompt just turned into a real app on the App Store - no code, no dev team. inside vibecode dev a guy typed "build a tinder for movies, make it look like hinge" - and claude code shipped it: swipe cards, a saved-movies list, detail pages. then in plain english he renamed it, added a logo of his own face, and hit publish - vibecode made the bundle id and sent it to apple's review. > describe the app once, get a working build you can swipe > restyle, rename, and rebrand it by typing > ship to the app store from the same screen - no xcode, no mac the wall between an idea and a live app store app just fell. the ones playing with this now ship while everyone else writes specs.

Everyone argues about which AI model is smartest. The real skill almost nobody teaches: harness engineering. on its own a model is a brain in a jar - brilliant but helpless. it can't open files, run code, or check its own fix. it can only talk. to make it act, you build it a body - eyes to read files, hands to run them, a try-check-try loop, and guardrails. that body is the harness. > prompt engineering - the sentence you hand the brain > context engineering - what you put in front of it to read > harness engineering - the body that lets it act at all same brain in a sloppy body flails. in a sharp one it's unstoppable. everyone chases a bigger brain - the real work is the body.

Claude-flow spins up 60+ AI agents that build your product together - and it's #1 on GitHub free and #1 on github, yet almost nobody has set it up. it's not one agent - it's a swarm: queens run the teams, tactical agents research, code, test, and review, sharing one memory that gets smarter every run. > reads your task and auto-routes it: cheap model for easy, powerful for hard > the shared memory improves after every single run > cuts token use up to 50% and extends your claude code by 250% in 3 months this name is everywhere - the ones who found it now are already ahead. i surface these before they blow up.
