I'm excited for Steam Next Fest and hope people who play the demo of Hopfinity love the gameplay! It's nice to be "done" in a sense, yet also nervous for what comes next. It will be hard to not add more to Hopfinity before release later this year!

I’ve been quietly building a game for almost a year now, and it’s finally getting real.
It’s called Hopfinity — a fast little arcade climber where you grapple, dash, and bounce a slime called Hop (suggested name from my son), as high as you can. Platforms, turrets, lava, a giant spider, the whole mess.
I’m aiming to release it before the end of the year, and I just put a gameplay trailer up. If you’ve ever wanted to see the thing I’ve been disappearing into, this is it. #solodev #gamedev #indiegame

Game devs — has making games kinda ruined playing other games for you?
When I first started, another dev told me it would ruin casual gaming forever. I didn’t really believe them at the time.
But lately I catch myself doing it constantly. I’ll be playing something and instead of just enjoying it, I’m mentally breaking down the mechanics.
Half the time I'm thinking about turning the game off and jumping into my game development.
Is it just me or does the dev brain never fully turn off?

The closer I get to the goal of releasing Hopfinity by end of August the more anxious I get! Don't think I'll ever feel 100% done with it even on release. I'm sure that's how many other devs feel with their games. And even though I tell myself it's a small game it'll be fine, I still have to contain the feature creep and keep it within scope. #indiedev #gamedev

Wife: “After dropping your game demo and seeing all the stuff you missed that still needs fixing… you worried about the full release?”
Me: “Nah… not at first. But now that you’ve said it out loud and made me actually think about it… yeah. Pretty terrified I’ll have some game-breaking bug pop up that I’ll have to scramble to fix on launch day 😂”

Working feverishly on growing these YouTube and Twitch Channels.
Lately, I have been adding new content to my main YouTube channel to the point where I genuinely think I have screwed up the algorithm so much that it's simply ignoring me. Hahahaha
To that end, I have created a VODs channel, also in light of Twitch getting rid of their unlimited Highlight storage. I have started with adding Final Fantasy IV streams, but it is my plan to add every single stream I have ever done and kept recorded over the years. It will be a slow process, but it will be YEARS before I run out of content to post. Everything will be neatly organized in individual play lists.
