In a sector where (for all the right reasons) we have massively increased our focus and the narrative on evidenced based approaches, to see this with such minimal and dated evidence and without consultation is such a shame. Seems the new narrative is levelling down not up.

I wrote to the DfE today to urge them to carry out proper consultation to inform their curriculum plans. As seen from recent policy failures there is a huge amount at stake for schools and the wider sector if the Government fails to ground its policies in up-to-date evidence.
