This is extremely distressing news.
I am not sharing this to point out that "gang rapes can occur among people of any religion." That is already patently obvious.
A legal system does not merely punish the offender; first and foremost, it takes measures to prevent the crime from being committed! Yet, if a crime does occur, it ensures justice is served as swiftly as possible.
No system that fails to achieve this can be considered successful!

Report: Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel secretly visited Israel just 11 days before the October 7 attack and delivered a warning that Hamas was preparing for a significant attack.

Without the context one cannot understand the true meaning of some discrete verses in Quran. Read a couple of verses before and after a specific verse to get some level of understanding of context
Quran 2:191 is a great example! 🔽
In every society—whether religious or secular—there are individuals who do wrong, commit crimes, and disregard the values of their own community. It is often misguided to form an opinion about a society based on these exceptional, negative examples found among a minority. Just as the brutal slaughter of Jewish and Muslim populations by the Crusaders who occupied Jerusalem—or the centuries of brutal enslavement and mass killing of hundreds of millions of people by Western imperialist empires—did not prove Christianity to be inherently barbaric, the atrocities committed today by so-called Islamist terrorist organizations do not prove that Islam is a barbaric religion.

When Christians share their faith, it’s called evangelism. When Muslims share theirs, it’s called “taking over.” The Constitution protects both. Religious freedom doesn’t stop being freedom when Muslims participate.

Azeez Al-Shaair, an NFL star, paid a touching tribute to Wafaa Akila, an 8-year-old girl, and her father, who were martyred in an airstrike targeting their car on her first day of school. He wrote her name on his eye black strips as he met with children and families on the field. Al-Shaair has continuously honoured those suffering in Gaza in similar ways, repeatedly turning his eye black into a form of protest, despite the fines he receives from the NFL.

Americans come from all faiths and backgrounds.
Muslim Americans are part of the essential fabric of our communities and country.
I stand with our Muslim neighbors and strongly condemn this hateful bigotry.
At the Jewish American Summit in Los Angeles this weekend, Mosab Hassan Yousef told the crowd: "I don't want Muslims in America. Get the f*** out of the United States." A large portion of the crowd applauded and cheered.
This is bigotry, and it should never be met with applause in any room, let alone one at a Jewish event. We call on the sponsoring organizations to condemn this without equivocation.

The videos of Mosab Hassan Yousef’s hateful rhetoric at an event in my District this past weekend are deeply disturbing.
Calling for Muslims to leave America—and applauding that hateful rhetoric—is vile and dangerous Islamophobia. It should alarm every one of us: an attack on one community is an attack on us all. Muslims are Americans. Muslims are Angelenos. We will always stand with our Muslim neighbors and against hate in every form.
