Russian satellites may be attacking the Finnish mapping satellite that aids Ukraine and is trying to reduce Europe’s reliance on American gear.
In May, five Russian satellites surrounded a commercial imaging satellite.
And this week, one of them — Cosmos 2612 — is maneuvering to get even closer. It will make its closest pass over the next 24 hours.

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

TRUMP FALSELY CLAIMS BIDEN GAVE UKRAINE $350 BILLION IN CASH AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT
President Donald Trump has once again claimed that the Biden administration provided Ukraine with $350 billion in military equipment and cash.
“Biden gave $350 billion worth of equipment and cash to Ukraine. Not good, not good, not good,” Trump said.
However, official U.S. figures do not support this claim.
Trump appears to be conflating the total funding approved by Congress in response to Russia’s war with the amount of assistance actually delivered to Ukraine.
According to a U.S. government oversight report, ~$196.4 billion was appropriated for Ukraine-related assistance and the broader U.S. response to Russia’s war as of June 30, 2026 – ~$154 billion less than Trump claims.
And even that $196.4 billion was not handed directly to Ukraine. It includes funding spent inside the United States to replenish American weapons stockpiles, manufacture military equipment and support U.S. military operations in Europe.
Ukraine is grateful for every dollar of American assistance. That support has helped save Ukrainian lives and defend the country against Russia’s invasion.

Zelenskyy simply and accurately explains why giving up the Donbas won’t end the war:
"Putin says he wants the Donbas, but why, at the start of the full-scale invasion, was he trying to occupy Kyiv?
Is that the east of our country? Is that the Donbas? No, that’s the capital. Without a capital, there is no state.
Putin wants to destroy Ukraine. For us, the question is not about withdrawing from the Donbas.
The real question is the survival of our state. We stand and fight, because what is the alternative? To be destroyed.
Simply put, not everyone feels this because Ukraine is still standing. We have stabilized the battlefield.
We are grateful to our partners in Europe, America, and other countries, Japan is helping, Canada is helping, Australia, New Zealand, whoever can.
Ukraine stands against such a powerful enemy as Russia. We stand, otherwise we will be destroyed.
It’s always difficult, you know, in communications with partners, to find the right words, the warnings that they will truly understand.
Putin wants to destroy us. He doesn't respect us, our sovereignty, or our territorial integrity.
He genuinely believes that we are not a country, not a nation.
So do you really trust that he only needs the eastern part of our country? Of course that will never be enough for him.
And what will happen if we fall? How many people, I don’t know, maybe twenty million Ukrainians, will come to Europe?
Because Putin will destroy our homes and force us out. For me, this is absolutely clear.
That’s why we are standing strong, defending our country. Yes, with pain, with huge losses.
That’s why we are asking: stop the killing. And as I have heard so many times from POTUS, 'they have to stop the killing.'
Russia is killing us on our own territory. They came onto our land and keep pushing further.
They do not want to stop. They do not even want to freeze the war, as you can see.
So, do you think what Putin really wants is just the eastern part of our country? No. It will never be enough for a person like him."

At the end of the day, it doesn’t even matter if Zelenskyy is President of Ukraine or not. @ZelenskyyUa
Putin’s goal is to take Ukraine. Then he will take Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and he will make his way through all of Europe.
People obsess over personalities too much.
You could have an election in Ukraine tomorrow and Putin would still find a reason to be at war.
Russia INVADED Ukraine.
Not the other way around.
Zelenskyy’s removal from office won’t stop Russian imperialism.
It’s not about Zelenskyy. It’s about Putin. It’s always been about Putin.

Mr. President, Putin killed and maimed these Ukrainians, not Zelenskyy.
No one blamed Roosevelt for defending our sovereignty when we were attacked in 1941, even though many Americans died fight our enemies
Only the worst apologists for terrorists blamed Bush for fighting back after 9/11.
But somehow it’s ok to blame Zelenskyy for defending his country after Putin invaded? This makes no sense.
