Question: What is the Party's attitude towards sub-national ethnic identities such as Cornish, Celtic, Manx etc? Answer: The National Agenda recognises that within the wider British racial group there are different ethnic groups, some of which have heritage going back thousands of years. We do not recognise the prominence of any particular sub-ethnic group in any legal sense, but we do support the preservation of these ancient peoples, traditions and customs, including languages. We insist that every person in the British Isles should be taught the English language for everyone's interests including their own, but we support the idea that people with Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Cornish or other heritage continue to be taught their own ancient languages wherever they wish to be. This is particularly important in regions of the country that have significant populations with these backgrounds. The British people, including those from different specific ethnic groups within our islands, have more in common with each other than they do with anyone outside of these islands, and this is the principle that must be followed.
