Are we really going to let @fordnation dismantle public health care and education? He is intentionally setting them up to fail to justify privatization. Fight for your OHIP card and your children's future! #onpoli #VoteFordOut2022

Anyone who works in labour should be able to retire at 60. If you work in an office it should be 70. Broken bodies literally can't and shouldn't work longer.
That OAS number is insane. While most developed nations have raised, or plan to raise, the retirement age, Canada leaves it at 65 for purely political reasons.

Unpopular opinion but a country's wealth and success should be measured by how well its poorest live, not by how obscenely rich its richest are.

A former BioWare employee uploaded this Mass Effect Universe (Mass Effect 5) trailer on Reddit! According to another employee, this trailer was ready a few months ago. #MassEffect

I need to stop discarding tweets with the excuse that "This guy's a fucking idiot. What's the point?" My feed would be so much more exciting.

I'm sorry, but this is an absurd thing to do. We need to stop importing almost exclusively from one country. We should be importing based on compatible culture, society, values, and verifiable skills before bringing in en masse.

The problem ultimately lies with people wanting control over someone's ability to live or die. A truly free society respects ones decision on determinance of whether they live or die.
My mother was given six months to live with stage-four lung cancer. She also had diabetes, high blood pressure and a pacemaker. Surgery was not an option. She also had dementia by that point. MAiD was not an option. I watched her suffer seizures, convulsions, bedsores and pain despite morphine and palliative care. Watching her die was unbearable. This was my mother, not a political talking point. Governments must fund excellent healthcare, hospice and palliative care. They must also respect an eligible person’s voluntary, informed choice about unbearable suffering. You can oppose MAID for yourself. But calling another person’s choice β€œdefeat and failure” dismisses the suffering behind it. There is no victory in a prolonged, agonizing death. It’s cruel.

Euthanasia is not a sign of success, development, progress, or innovation. Governments that offer their citizens death as treatment are declaring defeat and failure. Pretending MAID is a benefit or service is a poor attempt to cover for woefully substandard health care.

When a company gets fined $10M for a practice that made them $100M, the government isn't regulating crime, they’re taking a 10% cut as a business partner.

The hardest working people in the world likely live in poverty. Hard work almost never translates to Wealth. But exploitation of labor often does. The hard work myth needs to die.

Do you think you learn to be an engineer through employer training? Planning on turning engineering into a min. wage job like you guys did for welding and electronics?
Why can't those engineers, health workers etc be out of work Canadian youth who we train? Is it ethical for Canada to continue to stake its future on poaching the cream of other nations?

Stupid question, but why do poor people have to pay monthly fees just to have a bank account but wealthier individuals, who can clearly afford it, don't pay a cent? You still lend the shit out of my money, and make more on it than you've ever paid me in interest?
