What an abject failure Trump is. Starts a war with Iran he can’t finish then bends his knee to warmonger Putin to save his economy (and votes). When will the US majority see through him?

Steepest escalators on Glasgow subway, at Kelvinbridge and both up and down out of order. No signs, no apology. The most access unfriendly city in the UK. You are a disgrace @SPT_RBX #StrathclydePassengerTransport

No longer the big fan of the club that I was for 40 or so, mostly unsuccessful, years but interesting that Man City’s sins are predicated mainly on their owners putting too much money into the club, rather than illegally taking it out, which is true of many Premier club owners…

As a constant football attender for more than 50 yrs, the pre and post match pub pint are a vital part of the experience. Don’t need to drink at the game,as well, with all the buying/drinking/pushing interruptions, that will entail.

Pushing was autocorrected from ‘pishing’! Both apply.

Vile, old racist guy on the 60 bus to Maryhill, spewing bile. United passenger power and a brave driver got him ejected from the bus. #NoPlaceForRacismInGlasgow

Young #UniversityChallenge contestants guess questions about Gaming, in the way my generation would have known music or film questions.

Have sympathy with @dundeeuni staff going on strike, but at least let students know if you are in or out. Start of daughter’s 2nd year and she’s had 3 no shows from staff, today. Communicate, please!

If the crowd for Stenny v @PartickThistle was 1774 and the Jags took 1400, did Stenny have less than 400 fans for a big home game? Still beat us, mind!

Great interview with the influential and underrated @sheila_chandra on @BBC6Music with @bobbyfriction Tragic that she lost her voice, but great that she has emerged as a writer of books. Lovely Sunday soundtrack from Bobby F.

Hero!
William Arnold travelled around 1,700 miles from Cornwall to the remote Isle of Lewis in Scotland for one unusual reason. He wanted to make 52 phone calls from an old red telephone box. The box at Eneclate is no ordinary kiosk. It is a rare double-door version of Britain's famous K6 phone box, designed to cope with the powerful winds of the Outer Hebrides. Only two are known to remain in their original locations, and this one still had a working phone. Under rules governing BT payphones, making at least 52 calls within a 12-month period is one of the factors that can protect a phone from removal. So Arnold decided to give this one the usage it needed. After raising money for the journey, he travelled north and reached the box in August 2026. With winds around 45 mph and rain blowing outside, he stood inside and worked through the calls. It took roughly two hours and cost him about £36. Many calls went to people who had supported his journey, while some even called the phone box back. Arnold's interest in Britain's disappearing payphones began in 2022 after he tried to use one during a photography trip and discovered the line was dead. Since then, he has documented working kiosks and tried to draw attention to their disappearance, especially in rural places where mobile coverage can still be unreliable. Around 9,000 public payphones remain operational across the UK, according to BT, down from roughly 20,000 just two years earlier. For Arnold, travelling 1,700 miles to make 52 calls was deliberately a little absurd. But at the end of that long journey stood a rare red telephone box that had survived for more than 70 years, and for another year, at least, its phone had plenty of calls on the record.
