CEO wages huge, impact limited, MAT system a poor replication of LA system . No accountability, early reirement system for HT gravy train rolls on.
"At PMQs this week, an Essex MP raised in parliament the policies of a MAT local to her. She could see no other way of making parental voice heard." My blog post below is edited to add the link for this story; another reason why the MAT system has to go.

2 weeks after our 1st inspection under the new framework. We had good people and they tried to do an excellent job. The framework is an inch deep and a mile wide. You learn nothing new. The school is left damaged and, often, harder to run

Tougher Ofsted framework (especially for inclusive schools in deprived areas), higher attendance targets, lower budgets, higher SEND needs than ever, more parent issues than ever, Inclusion guidance to evidence, Enrichment guidance to evidence. Someone tell me it’ll get easier 😂

Ofsted’s inspection system is causing ‘harm’ to teachers and making them want to quit the profession, finds @NEUnion survey – with @DanielKebedeNEU saying it is ‘not acceptable that the new framework is driving this amount of stress’

Spielman loves to criticise, but can’t bear criticism of herself, or her appalling legacy at @Ofstednews. Trust nothing this woman says about education.
RIP Ruth Perry.
Replying to @amanda_spielman
The testing and exam regime cements in lowered expectations: the guaranteed one third failure rate. And that doesn't even include the off-rolled, and awol students.

Schools with the highest SEND levels are five times more likely to fall below Ofsted's expected standard for inclusion. Tes reported on 11 September that 3% of secondaries with the lowest SEND levels fell short, against 15% of those with the highest. Schools rated exceptional for inclusion average 12.2% on SEN support. Those told to improve urgently average 17.1%.
If you serve a high SEND community and you are in the window, that is a number worth having in the room.
Has inclusion been judged fairly against your intake?
Tell us what the inspector actually asked you. We are collecting the questions.

We put a question to our community that had no policy answer anywhere. A teacher asks for a paid day off to take their own child to university. Do you grant it, and do you pay it?
Not one person who replied had it in their staff handbook.
Does yours? Yes or no.

Today @Tesco Group 22 swapped the shop floor for Eastnor, walking up to the Obelisk as part of the Tesco Team Central walk.
A few miles, plenty of laughs and one brilliant team - all for @CR_UK❤️
Proud of what we achieved together.

Danny Tommo has finally been arrested for criminal damage and reckless endangerment of life.
He's a knife-wielding racist and deserves to be taken off the streets.
We will continue to campaign against Patriot Platform and will end his organisation.

Stop looking for reasons to disallow goals, the premier league will lose all of its appeal if we continue to ruin the product.
You said it was a high bar, we all agreed that was the best decision so why are we getting involved when the ref saw it and Stockley Park talk him out of it.
High bar, fine chance. Just another chance to give certain clubs the opportunity to succeed. #NFFC
The game is being ruined!

NEW: 'Determined' teacher found dead was 'under stress ahead of Ofsted visit'
The Liverpool Echo reports that Katie Allen-Gyves had confided in her doctor about work-related stress and being 'up until 3am marking work' ahead of a looming Ofsted inspection - she was found dead in her bed after raising concerns about work-related stress ahead of an impending Ofsted inspection, an inquest has heard. Katie Allen-Gyves was 38 and served as the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at a Manchester School.
The chief coronor said it was 'quite clear' Ms Allen-Gyves was 'frustrated and angry at things' at work at the time. "It is quite clear that Ofsted inspection was on her mind".
This story follows the tragic Ruth Perry case from 2023.
Should OFSTED be abolished? Reformed again? Or retained as is? 👇

Nigel Farage is posting this morning
“More small boats in the Channel this morning. They will keep coming. Open Borders Burnham won’t stop them”
Lets remind ourselves how we got into this mess in the first place - the BREXIT he championed
Let’s call this bull**** out TOGETHER
The 200,000 illegal migrants figure Farage is using is over several years and let’s remind ourselves how we got into this mess in the first place - BREXIT
And now in threatening to punish those parts of the country where people don’t vote his way the Reform party leader is betraying the basic principles of democracy - its shameless and grotesque bullying which shows nothing but contempt for voters

PBS: Do you feel duped by Trump?
MTG: No. It's more shame on Donald Trump. And it's shame on the Republicans who worship him and will never stand up to him. He lied. The man lies -- no more foreign wars, I will bring world peace, and then he bombs a little girls' school in Iran. The entire country was lied to. The Republican Party is an utter failure in so many ways.
