Casino Royale is on TV later. The most impressive scene is when James Bond is in a hotel shower & knows immediately how to use it...

I know so many people who've paid for scans, cataracts, hips and knees, It's an absolute scandal, Sometimes I wonder if it's actually their plan but I doubt the SNP are actually competent enough to plan and pull something like that off.

“cynical state sponsored disinformation”
Calling this “The Great Scottish Pensions Robbery” is a stunning display of revisionism and fiscal illiteracy. Let’s start with the most blatant lie in your accompanying article: the claim that Scottish pensioners enjoy free personal care “under an SNP-run Scottish Government.” Free personal care was introduced in 2002 by the Labour-Liberal Democrat coalition via the Community Care and Health (Scotland) Act, a full five years before the SNP even entered power. You are shamelessly stealing credit for another administration's legislation to manufacture a grievance. Second, the claim that Scottish pensioners will “pay for it” completely ignores the principles of devolution. If Westminster funds a National Care Service in England, the Barnett Formula automatically triggers a massive, proportional cash injection directly into Holyrood's block grant. Scotland doesn't pay for English care; Holyrood gets a multi-billion-pound payout because of it. Parading around a debunked, compounding £4bn spreadsheet projection for 2050 to deliberately terrify older voters isn't standing up for Scotland; it is cynical, state-sponsored disinformation.

The English are lucky not to have a devolved parliament. Unless, of course, they would like their lives to be micromanaged by third-rate barristers, over-promoted councillors, public sector lanyard-jockeys, NGO email-writers, ex-spads, and other spiteful, self-righteous dullards.
Devolution only exists to make English people feel lucky.

This is a masterclass in statistical lying to manufacture a constitutional grievance. You claim the Prime Minister is taking “up to £4bn from Scotland's pensioners to pay for social care in England”, but your own Deputy First Minister’s letter admits that £4bn figure is an unadjusted cash-terms extrapolation for 2049–50, nearly a quarter of a century away. Terrifying pensioners today with compounding spreadsheet projections for 24 years in the future is cynical politics. More importantly, the claim that Scottish money is going south to fund English care is completely fabricated. Social care is fully devolved. If the UK Government invests money into an English National Care Service, the Barnett formula automatically triggers massive, proportional block grant windfalls straight into Holyrood's bank account. Scotland doesn't pay for English care; Holyrood gets a cash payout because of it. The ultimate irony is that Scotland’s population is ageing faster than the rest of the UK. Scottish pensions are currently underwritten by a 68-million-strong UK tax base and an annual £25.3bn UK Treasury fiscal transfer. If Scotland were independent, facing a 10% structural deficit without a central bank, you couldn't maintain existing state pensions on Day 1, let alone in 2050. Honest John?😂

I think what you’re saying is the ToU wasn’t delivered on so far as the Parliament of GB was concerned because its sovereignty isn’t limited to the extent that it can’t alter certain clauses of the ToU. But how do we know that, >>

>>considering it’s never been decided in court (Cooper’s remarks being obiter)? Is there any other respect in which you think the ToU wasn’t delivered on as regards the Parliament (or anything else)?

This is a better way to visualize Columbus’ voyages than the traditional way (that shows him traveling through a modern map).. It looks a lot crazier and more daring when you see it as a trip into the unknown.

If having “the Scottish cringe” means finding cunts like this skin-crawlingly insufferable then I’m positively riddled with it.

Because it’s better if decisions about a place are made by the people who live there.
Planning authorities will have to notify Scottish Ministers of new data centre applications within seven days. A new direction has been issued by Public Finance Minister Hannah Mary Goodlad. This applies to data centre developments using more than 50 Megawatts of power.

anybody who doubts that the independence movement is swamped with unserious people just needs to look at the independence-coded accounts on here - they get schooled into next week after making blatantly false assertions *and just keep going anyway*

Swinney is working on a Scottish system. It’s due to come in in 2032, will be £12m over budget, and will send you a fax 2 days after your house burns down.

Hard not to admire the ingenious mischief behind the digital rebirth of @ScotRail The beautiful unmanned West Highland line station Tulloch has discarded all analogue information and now boasts a handy QR code. One problem. There is no mobile coverage of any kind. Genius.
