1/3 Here’s a plea to all of Twitter. If you agree, please retweet, because I think it’s important. If you’re going to leave: 1) Don’t delete your account, because someone else could grab it. 2) Don’t delete your tweets, because they are part of a unique historical snapshot.

At my engineering school, it was typical to do all-nighters, so I tried the same thing everyone else was doing on team projects when I didn't know any better. The 2nd time I tried it, I noticed that something that should've taken minutes took hours.

While centrists pretend nothing happened, a reminder the mayor-elect’s most prominent billionaire supporter is openly funding far-right disinformation. #vanpoli
There was not a single mention of what happened to the drug supply in North America in Vancouver is Dying. The intervention of safe supply is not a response to addiction, but to a drug supply that has fundamentally changed, killing 10x as many people.

Let’s be clear that this is an absolutely unhealthy and toxic way of working as there’s no real reason to do so. This is not a startup running out of money, about to go bankrupt if not for this manic sprint. It’s the worlds richest person doing this because he can. So he does.

This is very funny. Also, once a Twitter data center caught on fire.

Silicon Valley is run by people want to be in the tech business, but are in the people business. They are way, way in over their heads.

Nobody needs to go to Greenland to know climate change is real. It's already in our backyards. In B.C., we had a heat dome that killed 100s, massive rainfall that flooded the valley, wildfires that choked the sky, and a drought that lasted over 3 months. That was in one year.

It’s clear that Greenland’s ice is melting. But the key to addressing climate change lies in markets, not government, Bret Stephens writes. Read more about his trip to Greenland. nyti.ms/3TJaAv9

This was B.C.’s third “once in a century” climate event in 16 months but this one didn’t involve a town burning down, multiple communities under water or hundreds of people dead, so yeah it’s still a wee bit terrifying

We are thrilled to welcome Blaine Cook (@blaine) to Fission as Principal Engineer! 🎉 Blaine has been an advocate for the DWeb for over a decade. Most notably, he proposed a decentralized social media ecosystem for @Twitter when he was Founding Engineer back in 2008.

I think how fearful someone is may be the best one. People who have heightened fears and anxiety and less knowledge of a topic are definitely more susceptible to conspiracy theories. In my personal experience, these same people when in power try and execute conspiracies.

Everyone who is attracted to certain alternative theories about increases in obesity should pay close attention to Natalia's criticisms of said theories. And should more generally be less credulous.
