If Red Skull was one of Captain America’s most infamous enemies, how did Hawkeye and Black Widow not recognize him on Vormir? Did the Avengers really know so little about what he looked like, or is there a detail about Red Skull’s transformation that explains why they didn’t recognize him?

My friend fingered me under the blanket while everyone was in the room and I almost lost my mind trying to stay quiet.. Okay so this happened on Saturday and I literally cannot stop thinking about it so here we go lmaoo. After a party at our friend's apartment like six of us ended up crashing there because nobody was in any shape to drive. Two people took the spare bedroom, one girl passed out on the floor with a pillow, and me and my friend ended up on the couch together with this big fuzzy blanket over us. There was also this guy from the party half asleep on the recliner like two feet away from us. Everyone was watching some movie someone had put on but nobody was really paying attention because we were all drunk and tired. My friend is... okay so we've always had this energy between us. We've never hooked up but we've kissed at parties and she grabs my ass when she's drunk and I grab hers and we've slept in the same bed a hundred times and sometimes I wake up with her arm around my waist and her face in my neck and neither of us talks about it. That kind of friend. You know the kind. So we're on this couch. I'm in pajama shorts and a tank top because someone lent me clothes to sleep in and my friend is in a hoodie and underwear. My legs are tucked up and our thighs are pressed together under the blanket and the room is dark except for the TV. Her hand found my knee first. Just resting there. Normal. Then it slid up to my thigh. Less normal. Her thumb was tracing these slow circles on my inner thigh and every circle was a little higher and I was staring at the TV screen not seeing a single thing happening on it. My whole body was focused on where her hand was going next.

For eleven years, Aiko Tanaka believed she had a happy marriage with her husband, Kenji. They had two children, a beautiful home in Tokyo, and a comfortable life. Kenji wasn’t particularly romantic, but he was a devoted father and a responsible husband. Then, one evening, Aiko discovered regular bank transfers to a woman she had never heard of. The payments had started seven years earlier. When she confronted Kenji, he stared at the bank statements and quietly asked her not to contact the woman. That was all Aiko needed to hear. The following morning, she drove to the address listed on the bank records. A young woman opened the door. She looked about twenty-five. When Aiko introduced herself, the girl’s face went pale. She stepped aside and called into the house. “Mum, Kenji’s wife is here.” An elderly woman emerged from the bedroom, holding a photograph of Kenji. Aiko demanded an explanation. The woman began to cry. Seven years earlier, Kenji’s former girlfriend, Yumi, had died, leaving behind a young daughter and an elderly mother who could barely afford to survive. Before her death, Yumi had asked Kenji to look after them. He had kept his promise in secret, paying their rent and the girl’s school fees without telling his wife. Aiko was relieved that her husband hadn’t been having an affair. But then the elderly woman handed her a letter. It was written by Kenji shortly before his wedding. The first sentence read: “I know I have no right to ask you to forgive me, but I cannot marry Aiko without telling you what Yumi asked me to do.” Aiko’s hands began to tremble. She looked at the woman and asked, “What does this have to do with me?” The woman hesitated before answering. “Yumi knew your husband would eventually marry you. Before she died, she made him promise to find you and tell you the truth about your first child.” Aiko felt the room spinning. She and Kenji had lost their first baby shortly after birth. At least, that was what she had always been told. The elderly woman reached for another envelope. Inside was a hospital document bearing Aiko’s name, dated eleven years earlier. Then she whispered something that destroyed everything Aiko thought she knew about her marriage. “Your baby didn’t die, Aiko. Kenji knows where your child is.”

Hitchcock made ordinary birds terrifying. Now HBO is bringing THE BIRDS back with an Alaskan murder mystery. The challenge is making us fear the familiar again without losing the unsettling magic that made the original unforgettable.

Three weeks before Christmas, my wife, Emily, sent me links to two designer handbags she liked. “Just showing you something pretty,” she texted, followed by a laughing emoji. I knew what that meant. I had recently received a small bonus at work, so I bought one of the bags for $280. It was on clearance, and I thought I had found the perfect gift. I felt relieved knowing her main present was already taken care of. Then, one evening, while we were discussing Christmas plans, Emily casually said, “By the way, I changed my mind about those handbags. They're honestly ugly.” I stared at her. “Ugly? You sent me those links yourself.” She shrugged. “I know. I was just browsing.” I tried to keep my expression neutral, but she noticed something was wrong. “You already bought one, didn't you?” I didn't answer immediately. Her face changed, and she spent the next several minutes explaining that she hadn't meant what she said. According to her, she was exaggerating and still wanted the bag. But I couldn't shake the feeling that her first reaction had been the honest one.

At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if Avengers: Doomsday makes $3 BILLION worldwide this December. 🔥 RDJ as Doctor Doom. The Avengers. The X-Men. The Fantastic Four. Are we witnessing the next Endgame-level phenomenon, or am I overestimating the hype..?

i'm a lighthouse... no. i'm a night-shift snow globe painter, and my one rule is that i never paint a face on a figure inside a globe. faces make people sad when they shake it. last tuesday at 10pm, a woman in a hospital badge set a tiny porcelain skater on my bench and said, "i need you to give her a face. i know the rule. she's my mother."...

My company fired me three weeks before my wedding because I refused to lie to a client. Six months later, that same client called me with an offer that changed my life, but accepting it meant exposing a secret I had promised to keep. My name is Rebecca, I’m 32, and I spent seven years working as a contracts specialist for a construction company in Chicago. I wasn’t the loudest person in the office. I wasn’t the boss’s favorite either. I was simply the person people called when a contract looked suspicious or a number didn’t add up. Then came the Lakeshore Towers project, a $48 million apartment development that was supposed to be the biggest deal our company had ever secured. Two days before the final signing, I noticed something strange. The contract stated that the building materials had passed independent safety testing. But the laboratory report attached to the file had expired, and the new report showed that several materials failed to meet the required fire-resistance standards. I took the documents to my supervisor, Martin. He barely looked at them. “Rebecca, the client wants this signed by Friday. The replacement materials are already on the way. Just approve the paperwork.” “But the report says the current materials failed.” “And they’re being replaced. Nobody is asking you to build the entire building tomorrow.” He pushed the documents back toward me. “Sign it.” I refused. The following morning, Martin called me into a meeting with the company’s legal director. They told me I was being dismissed for “failure to meet critical project deadlines and demonstrate professional judgment.” I sat there, staring at them. I had done nothing wrong, yet my career was ending because I refused to certify something I knew was unsafe. When I reminded them that my wedding was three weeks away and my fiancé and I had already paid deposits for everything, Martin shrugged. “You’ll find another job.” I walked out carrying a cardboard box containing seven years of my life. That evening, I told my fiancé, Daniel, what had happened. He held me while I cried, then said something I would never forget. “Rebecca, I love you. But I need you to tell me one thing. Did you lose your job because you made a mistake, or because you refused to make one?” “Because I refused.” “Then we’ll figure out the bills. You have nothing to apologize for.” I thought the worst was over. I was wrong. Three days later, I received an email from the client’s legal team requesting copies of every document I had reviewed before my dismissal. At the bottom was a sentence that made my stomach turn. “Please preserve all records. We have reason to believe the discrepancy may extend beyond this project.” I had refused to sign one false report. Now someone was investigating whether the entire company had been built on false promises. And I was the only person who had kept the original paperwork.

“sweet heart,” she said, “did you ever wonder why your Spotify kept working after you cancelled it?” I hadn’t told her I’d cancelled it. I hadn’t told anyone but my mother. “She complains to me,” my aunt said. “I added you the same week.” I’d assumed it was a glitch. I’d been careful not to look at it too closely. I drove home and didn’t open the app until the next morning, in case it noticed.

She turned her laptop around on the kitchen table. A spreadsheet: five names, a tick beside each month. Under it, three lines. Streaming $15. Music $12. Storage $3. “Nobody wanted four different subscriptions with four different due dates,” she said. “So everyone pays me once, and I handle it.” “You never said music was included.” “Would you have read the email?” I wouldn’t have. I scrolled down. My name was on the music list too, with a date next to it: May.

For (4) four years I’ve sent my aunt $6 on the first of the month for “the family streaming account.” I never asked whose name it was under. Last week my cousin mentioned he pays her $6 too. Then his sister said the same. Then my uncle. Five of us. I did the math on my phone. $30 a month. The plan costs $15. I drove to her house with a screenshot of the pricing page, feeling like a prosecutor. “Seven hundred and twenty dollars,” I said. “Where does the other half go?” She didn’t argue.
