Congratulations to Lincoln, Nebraska, Post 500's @CarpetLandRugs on an impressive 9-6 victory for the @AmericanLegion World Series Championship. The Rugs did not lie down with a 6-1 deficit, coming back with two timely home runs and a gutsy relief outing, and earned the title.

Thanks again as always to the folks at @legionbaseball and @ALWS_Shelby for putting on another first class event. A packed Keeter Stadium made for a fitting atmosphere for a championship contest between two worthy teams.

They provided some great moments this year and the past few years. These young men are a credit to their families and to this community. We were proud to have them represent Post 14.

Not the ending we wanted, but no qualms with the effort. A good pitching duel between our Will Cassidy and Franklin's Ethan Edmunds, and Franklin came out on top, 5-0, thus concluding our season. Congratulations to @CoachTPasq and good luck to Franklin in the state tournament.

This was Post 14's third no-hitter. The other two were by Leo Corcoran, July 2, 2003, a 3-1 win at Westwood, and Josh Gershman, August 7, 1995, an 11-0 win vs. Sandwich in the State Tournament at Lowell.

A no-hitter from Nick Buckley as Post 14 defeats Norwood, 7-0, to advance in the District Tournament. Nick struck out 6 in a dominant performance over a very good lineup. Joey Saratella with a two-run double and key hits from Brendan McHugh and David Ching accounted for the runs.

Also, we at Post 14 are very saddened to learn of the passing of Dan Ventura of the Boston Herald. Nobody did more for high school sports around here than Danny V. Still remember him covering us and District 6 for the old Daily Transcript in the 80s and 90s. May he rest in peace.
