Boyd Huppert and Joie Chen, two of our industry's finest journalists, are among the guest speakers at this year's AAJA's JCamp at U of St. Thomas.
Here are some of the outstanding journalists who give up a week of their busy lives to inspire the next generation at AAJA's JCamp. Believe it or not ,there are tons of laughs, usually at my expense!
AAJA's JCamp has begun! The 25th edition is taking place right here in Minneapolis. Less than an hour after arriving at U of St. Thomas, some students got their first look at the mighty Mississippi.
"Disclosure Day" isn't great, but even mediocre Spielberg is worth watching. I ranked all his sci-fi movies. My no. 2 choice is already bugging people!

One of the first theater shows I saw when I moved to Twin Cities more than 30 years ago was a Penumbra production of an August Wilson play. The institution is still doing the American bard's work justice with "Joe Turner." See my colleague's great story.

When @sree comes to town, his fellow Desis flock to see him. Great fun with him and host Fred de Sam Lazaro in St. Paul.
I love history that doesn't feel like a lecture, so I got such a kick out the History Theatre's revival of "Courting Harry," the story of the relationship between Supreme Court justices Harry Blackmun and Warren Burger. Brisk and educational. My rush seat was only $25. Bargain!
A lot of readers took issue with this column on Stephen Colbert, but it's nice to see people defend someone they have enjoyed over the years.

I'll be in NYC late next week for a few days. Looking for restaurants, shows and neighborhoods off the beaten path. Love to check out some hidden gems. Send recommendations my way!
"Suffs," now in Minneapolis, takes some liberties with facts and doesn't do enough to humanize Ida Wells. Woodrow Wilson comes off like a Batman villain. But overall, I was impressed with its historical accuracy and Maya Keleher is terrific as Alice Paul.
What was your favorite Springsteen moment from last night's tour opener in Minneapolis? Mine was "41 Shots," but lots to choose from.
