we can get Fortnite on day one, can we manifest smooth GTA 6 performance next? 👀
Fortnite is coming to Linux!! We are already working with the folks at @EpicGames to ensure that @Omarchy is ready on day one with all the security requirements. Amazing what's possible when you nag @TimSweeneyEpic for years 😂 store.epicgames.com/news/epi…

A single typo can compromise your entire system. This is exactly why you should always double-check your commands and carefully inspect package sources before installing anything from community repos. Stay safe out there! 🛡️ Typosquatting attacks look for simple mistakes to run malicious scripts as root. Always inspect your PKGBUILDs!
‼️ The Arch Linux drama continues: an account uploaded at least 15 fake copies of yay, Arch Linux's popular package helper, with malware in their install scripts. A scan of one, yyay, shows it pulling code from a Russian git host and running it as root.

🚨 BREAKING - Netflix is laying off 1000 employees, about 6% of its workforce Mind it, it is the biggest layoffs in the history of Netflix, more than double the ~450 cut in 2022. No job is safe, layoffs can happen whether you work in a startup, MNC or even FAANG.

I agree that @omarchy is a good example of where it's going Personal software that removes reliance on paid SaaS subscriptions and lets you create a malleable, user-controlled computing environment And it's all free, open source and sponsor funded
It’ll take a few years to trickle down. But he’s right. @omarchy is the canary in the coal mine. Everything will end up in that same place.

This weekend I randomly decided to get back into Linux. I've been using mac for a while and my old HP Victus was just sitting there with fedora installed, so I wiped it and installed Arch Linux with Hyprland on it. The plan was to use it for development, self-host some services, run some local AI models such as Qwen and turn it into a little home server. The installation of Arch was easy, but configuring Hyprland took me longer than I expected. I spent hours configuring my terminal, fonts, themes, keyboard shortcuts, installing packages, moving my projects and dev environment from my Mac over to it. And then random issues started occuring lol, chromium segfaulting, hyprland having config errors, etc. Basically I spent most of my weekend debugging and reading documentation. It was supposed to take a few hours, not days 😂 On Mac I usually just open my apps and get to work, but on Linux I had to debug to even get my browser to work. But it was fun, I kind of miss fiddling around with Linux. In the end, I managed to get my system the way I wanted it and now I'm planning on setting up my self-hosted services, experimenting with running Qwen3 1.7B locally and see how much I can get out of this laptop instead of letting it gather dust lol. I use Arch btw! #ArchLinux #Hyprland #Linux

Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you 🙏

In Indonesian slang, "gpt" stands for "ga penting" (not important / pointless). So "Stop chat gpt!!" just means "Stop the useless chat!!" ChatGPT itself only launched on November 30, 2022. 😂

If you’re working for a company, work within their mindset and expectations. Don’t overthink, overdo, or go crazy trying to give more than what’s valued. Your time is valuable save that extra energy for yourself and the things you’re building.
