Looking back on another incredible year 👏🏼
From opening new learning hubs across Greater Manchester to welcoming new team members & celebrating all of the incredible achievements that our learners have accomplished, here are some of our highlights from our 2024/5 year 👇🏼
We are saddened to hear of the passing of Pat Karney, a dedicated champion of Manchester and its local communities and an avid supporter of Navigators.
Pat's commitment to supporting young people across North Manchester, reflected the values we hold close at Navigators.
His passion for ensuring that young people have access to the support, opportunities and spaces they need to thrive has left a lasting impact on the communities he represented.
What makes a great Navigator? 💛
We caught up with Steve and Rachel from our recruitment team to chat about the qualities, skills and ambitions that make someone a fantastic Navigators mentor.
From overcoming challenges and building meaningful relationships to always putting the young person first, being a mentor is all about making a genuine difference in the lives of the young people we support across Greater Manchester.

How should we measure the success of work experience?
At Navigators, we see firsthand how meaningful experiences can help young people develop confidence & independence, discover careers they may never have considered & begin to visualise what their own future could look like.
For some learners, success might mean completing their first external placement. For another, it could be speaking to an employer or building practical skills.
As the Government’s work experience guarantee develops, we believe accessibility & flexibility must remain at its heart
Every young person is different. A successful work experience system should recognise that and ensure every learner has the opportunity to access an experience that is genuinely meaningful to them.

This #NationalInclusionWeek, we’re celebrating our commitment to creating environments where everyone feels valued, respected and able to thrive.
From ensuring our students have access to opportunities that work for their individual needs, to building an inclusive workplace and working with employers to create accessible, meaningful pathways into the world of work - inclusion runs through every part of Navigators.
At our recent INSET Day, we were proud to celebrate colleagues who have now completed their @NCFE Certificate in Alternative Provision Education. Since the programme launched last year, 29 members of staff have achieved a recognised professional qualification in AP Education.
We are now preparing to enrol our next cohort of mentors onto the Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, further strengthening our specialist expertise and ensuring the young people we support receive the highest-quality learning experience and pastoral support.
A beautiful setting for our first INSET day of the 2026/27 academic year ✨
Our team are looking forward to two fantastic days at Gorton Monastery, coming together, learning and preparing for the year ahead.
Here’s to a brilliant new academic year 🗓
