As things stand on 'twitter', we are no longer posting here. Which is a pity, because we have worked hard to promote @NavanCycling, & enjoyed the community.
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram for regular updates.
The question now is, do we move to #Threads or #Bluesky? 🤔

We had a great chat during @NavanCycling visit yesterday about our school's desire to see much needed additional cycle lanes in surrounding areas of our school. So many more of our pupils would cycle if proper and safe infrastructure was in place 🚲 @meathcoco @RSAIreland
Great to see unanimous support for the enhancement of #ActiveTravel in the submissions for Flowerhill and Abbeylands, including contra-flow cycle lanes on Flowerhill. These plans will be great for the area.
The people of Navan are ready for change.

Lots of bizarre, nutjob replies on this from accounts (trolls) who follow a lot of right-wing, extremist accounts. Many thanks for that, Twitter algorithm.
This place is a cesspit and its only getting worse, we all need to leave.
Brand new cycle lanes in Navan on the Trim Road. @anpost please ask your drivers not to park illegally like this. This van was here for over 10 minutes forcing cyclists out on the main road.

Below is the Irish Cycling Campaign's press release in relation to the @RSAIreland "Lose Your Licence, Lose Your Independence" advertising campaign.
We need a safe systems approach to road safety, not more of these nonsense adverts.

RSA slammed for promoting idea that people who don't drive are a "burden for others" irishcycle.com/2024/08/19/rs…
Navan Cycling Initiative retweeted
The RSA are attempting to shame people towards car ownership to fill their coffers. It’s not road safety education nor is it supporting modal shift - two key metrics in their own road safety strategy.
I don’t believe there’s any salvaging the RSA.
@EamonRyan @lawlessj
When you lose your licence, you become reliant on other people to take you where you need to go and you become a burden for others.
If you get caught drink or drug driving, you will be disqualified 🚫

At what point does the @RSAIreland actually encourage modal shift to healthier and sustainable modes of transport, the result of which will be less risk of collision, fewer injuries and deaths?
Their new ad pushes the opposite. @lawlessj @Dept_Transport
