Hey, everyone. I'm thrilled to share that I've started working for MLB Network as a Social Media Coordinator. This means I will no longer post on this account. I had so much fun the last two years covering the Nationals minor league system on here. (1/3)

Draft Focus- Ethan Holliday
Below you will find my breakdown and in this thread you will find some opinions from some great draft, nats and prospect accounts. I want to thank them for sharing some Ethan Holliday opinions here and make sure you follow all of them if you don’t already!
This is the name that has been tied to this pick for what feels like years at this point and it is easy to see why. He has the big league pedigree, he has performed in Oklahoma and the power is absurd already. In my opinion Holliday has clearly the most upside in this draft along with a pretty solid floor when it comes to power. Like many prep bats his overall value will come down to his ability to hit and show off that power in pro games. Holliday has unfortunately had to live with the references to his summer performance. Fair or unfair that is one of the only samples we have to go on against elite talent and he stumbled during that time. The most concerning to me was his trouble with velocity. Supposedly those summer struggles prompted some changes to his swing, but we won’t be able to see proof of that against elite competition before the draft. I warn against people viewing his possible selection as a Harper type of move as he has more concerns than Harper at the time of the draft and isn’t that level of prospect. With that being said I do think Holliday can/will be a solid to star player at the big league level if some of the concerns are ironed out. What makes this draft so interesting to me is Holliday falls into a group of players where I would be happy with the pick but not 100% satisfied. Most years I would be able to narrow it down to one or two but this year is much more wide open for various reasons.
Thank you all again for the support and well wishes. It means a lot!
There's nothing I want more than to keep in touch with all the connections I've made through this account, so I'm asking everyone to please follow me on my personal account, @alexf_hill. If I'm not following you over there, please don't take it personally because I haven't (2/3)
The 2023 organizational OPS leaders 🤩
Yohandy Morales was one of the best hitters in all of MiLB after being drafted 40th overall in July. In 189 plate appearances across four levels, the corner infielder managed an OPS north of .900 and a 156 wRC+ 🪀
These arms were solid from start to finish 💪
Along with finishing 7th in FIP, Mitchell Parker logged the most strikeouts (150), most walks (61), 4th-most innings (124), and 6th-lowest xFIP (3.82) of any pitcher in the organization during 2023 (min. 40 IP).
With the MiLB season coming to an end today, it's time to highlight season leaders starting with wRC+!
James Wood ended at sixth in the organization for wRC+, but led all in plate appearances with 549. The player with the next most PAs on this leaderboard is Jacob Young (496).
