Tomorrow at TudorCon in Richmond, Virginia, I speak on Tudor Propaganda and Henry VII's attempts to manipulate historical memory to secure his dynasty's future. He was a cunning one, that man.

Sixty years on, we remember the 144 people who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster.   Today, The King and The Queen, with The Prince of Wales, spent time at the Aberfan Memorial Garden and the Aberfan and Merthyr Vale Community Centre to honour their memory.   The Aberfan Memorial Garden stands on the site of Pantglas School, where 109 children and 5 teachers died when the coal tip collapsed onto the village. Watch His Majesty’s speech in full on our YouTube channel (link in bio).

Britain once threatened war with its oldest friend. 🇬🇧 A friendship sealed at Windsor in 1386. Still in force today. 🤝 In 1839 Britain told Portugal: stop shipping human beings. Or the Royal Navy will stop you. ⚓ Off East Africa, HMS Modeste chased a slave ship for nearly nine hours. 695 people stepped onto a jetty at Cape Town. Never sold. 🕊️ They teach you the ships that carried people. Not the ones that stopped them. Watch the full story. 🎥

And a wee surprise coming on Mary's death day this year! 💃🏼👑
I woke up much earlier than usual and opened my Word document for Mary's biography and within two hours I wrote over 1,000 words, with citations and everything, so I'm feeling more inspired than I've been in a while. I needed to take a break after writing Barbara Villiers' biography, but I feel like at last I've turned a corner and the research I've been doing since 2010 will finally be put to good use! If you'd like to follow my progress on this, maybe consider following the Queen Mary II page I've set up on Facebook: facebook.com/MaryStuartII
