I will like make some clarifications and make some corrections to your prejudiced and ill informed opinions about the Yorubas as regards our economic power in Nigeria and West Africa. 1. The Yoruba people have been a coastal power for the past 600 years. We have been trading from Warri to Port Novo to Ouidah with Europe via the Portuguese traders in equal footings. Oyo empire had Ouidah port, Port Novo port and Badagry port, the Ijebus were using the Ikorodu port and Epe port. The Ilajes were using the port at Igbokoda before the existence of lord lugard and Nigeria. Our coastal power was bestowed to us by God and through wars that our forefathers fought so that we can enjoy. We will not make any apologies for that or dim our light for anyone. 2. The prosperity, economic and imperial hegemony of Yoruba people existed before the existence of Nigeria. We are doing what we have been doing for centuries. 3. Awolowo built the economic blueprint for the Yoruba people so that we will never poor till eternity. Do you want us to behave like you people and not build a prosperous homeland for our people? Why do you think we want restructuring? So that we can use our brain power for the economic independence of the Yoruba people in Nigeria. 4. Apart from Nigeria, the Port Novo port in Benin republic is also a Yoruba port, so don’t think our sea coast power is limited to Nigeria. 5. Stop comparing yourselves to the Yoruba people. Don’t do it, if you continue to do it, you are self destructing yourself. Awolowo created an economic power and warchest for us called Oodua investment that is worth trillions of naira, what do Azikwe create for the Igbos? Nothing! Yet you want us to be wait for you??? We won’t do that and we will work tirelessly to build the most powerful economic bloc in the black world without waiting for anybody in Nigeria or outside Nigeria. You have a lot to learn from the Yoruba race but instead you are competing? Competing with a people who built empires for fun across West Africa???? I am sorry, we don’t have equals in the coast of West and central Africa and we are just starting. We wasted 50 years since the coup of 1966 because some people wanted to stop the rise of others in the of unitarism. The port of Ondo state is still coming, we are going to build another refinery in Ondo, Badagry and Ogun and before any part of Nigeria have full 24 hours of electricity, the South west will probably achieve it. Nigeria held us down so that the rest of you can catch up yet you didn’t. Don’t hate us like Zik, copy us and learn from us maybe you can use some of our methods to unleash the potential of the Igbo nation. Nigeria is federation of nations and amalgamation of empires. This is why you should join us to clamour for decentralisation of Nigeria so that everybody can unleash their potentials instead of waiting for Abuja.

Without the Yoruba people getting into power in 2015 till date, this achievements would have been impossible for another 100 years. 2027 elections is critical for the future and prosperity of the Yoruba people in this century.
