This National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & #OrangeShirtDay, we honour survivors of residential schools, remember those who never returned home & recognize intergenerational trauma. At the OHA, we're committed to ongoing learning, reflection & working towards reconciliation.
Today, we honour the Indigenous children taken from their families and communities, remember those who never came home, and stand with Survivors and families as we continue the journey of healing and reconciliation.🧡 Every Child Matters. #OrangeShirtDay #NDTR

Imagine, for a moment, if every federal party leader stood together and issued a joint statement:
“Today, we welcome the Government of Canada’s decision to restore 24 Sussex Drive. Regardless of our political differences, we recognize that the official residence of Canada’s Prime Minister is a national institution that belongs to all Canadians—not to any one government or political party.
If we were in government, we too would proceed with these necessary renovations. This is about preserving our history, our democracy, and one of the country’s most important national symbols for future generations.
We will therefore encourage our members, supporters, and donors across Canada to contribute—whether $5, $50, or $500—to help restore this historic residence. Together, Canadians can ensure that 24 Sussex once again reflects the dignity, heritage, and international stature of our country.”
Some things are simply bigger than politics. Preserving Canada’s national institutions should be one of them.
PS: in honour of my late mother Georgia who came to Canada with very little, my family pledges a donation for what is the home of all Canadians.

People don't realize how absurd this view actually is.
A camera. On a robot. On Mars.
Built by humans on a planet 140 million miles away, launched on a rocket, landed using a sky crane, and now driving across an alien desert taking pictures so detailed you can count the rocks.
100 years ago, your great-grandparents thought airplanes were a miracle.
You are scrolling past Mars on your phone.

Of course you can! Toronto happens to be the AI hub for much of the world. If you look at where a lot of great LLM and AI research happened, it is Toronto. On top of that Waterloo and Queen’s are excellent schools for what we do. The density of talent is very high.
What a great list!
What a pleasant surprise. The Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour longlist is out and The Marionette somehow made the cut. When you decide to write a comic-thriller (where the humour and suspense undercut each other), you don't expect to make this list. #Grateful
Great to be at #DXC26 this morning hearing Minister MacKinnon outline the steps the federal government is taking to ensure the integrity of Canadian elections.
Love my alma mater @McMasterU for sharing this!
Thank you to the @LeongCentre for convening a terrific symposium. Great to see the collective commitment to improving child well-being.
✨ We kicked off the @LeongCentre 2025 Symposium today with an inspiring plenary from @NancyNNaylor, former Deputy Minister of Education (Ontario). She challenged us to think about collaboration between health and education systems to better support children and families.

This is beautiful - those firefighters disregarded their own safety and raced in to save #NotreDameDeParis- they knew that there was something more than bricks and mortar here.
