Finally some good news? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has great HDR! 👍 This isn't new for CoD, they've been on a pretty good killstreak with it, though the previous iterations left a few improvements to be desired. Not only is it obvious the game is graded in HDR (as they've likely done since 2017), but it's clear they also designed it FOR HDR/OLED. Feedback from my community has been very positive and I can't wait to experience it. We put some lossless 4K HDR recordings on the official HDR Den Vimeo channel, enjoy it: vimeo.com/1239630982 vimeo.com/1239631695 Some raw HDR vs SDR pic comparisons here: slow.pics/c/pC4z9FRO The only complaints are: - Paper white scaling doesn't seem to work properly, it doesn't apply linearly, meaning it can badly affect black levels. - The calibration isn't automated on PC (unless you have HDR10+ or Dolby Vision), and has a weird numerical 0-1 value (not sure why go for that over a nits slider, which users could easily google). - Some of the scenes overshoot the peak brightness from calibration, resulting in some clipping. I would really wish to see the same care for HDR lighting from other studios, it's transformative and realistically only takes a few thousand $ of budgets to get lighting artists good displays.
