Moldova has shown its determination to prepare for EU membership. We believe it’s time to match that determination with European support.
In Chișinău, we are meeting with President Maia Sandu and other political leaders, civil society and young people to discuss the reforms needed for EU accession and support Moldovans on their European journey.

I strongly condemn the prison sentences against Kyrgyzstan’s Social Democrats: 7 years for Temirlan Sultanbekov and 4 for Kadyr Atambayev. Closed-door trials and prosecution of political opponents raise serious rule of law concerns. I join @PES_PSE and @Soc_Intl in calling for their release.
Very dissapointed by the sentence of 7 y of prison to #TemirlanSultanbekov and 4 y to #KadyrbekAtambayev, in a heavily politicised case marred by irregularities
This decision is the sad confirmation that the illusion of #Kyrgyzstan as an “island of democracy” is definitely over.
🇨🇳 Parliament cannot live in a different galaxy than the other European institutions on China and simply follow the erratic strategy of the United States. We should explore further engagement with Beijing while holding firm on our values.
