The Fort Worth News Guild will not stop drawing attention to our unfair wages until McClatchy Media pays us our worth. If you want to also write a letter to McClatchy in support of local news across the country, the link is still in our bio. #standwithstartelegramreporters

Fantastic news!!! The Supreme Court declined to hear the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s appeal of a ruling requiring the company to pay back its workers for the cuts to pay, illegally implemented increases in health care costs & more. When we fight, we win!!! ✊✊✊

The NY Daily News' owners could have used yesterday's election to bring in a wave of new young readers — maybe future subscribers. Instead they made the finance-bro move: another front-page wrap ad, this one about dogs, to make some quick one-off cash. Number go up, right?

Taking a stand against @NYDailyNews owner Alden Global Capital's unchecked greed is nothing new for @NYDNUnion. It's how they won their strong first contract. Our members are doing it again, standing together to back their work and each other against Alden's harm.

So @AlexBores stole Sunday’s front page of the Daily News from FDNY widows, Monday’s from the man who fell to his death at MSG (in the district he’s running to represent), and today’s from a young father killed in a Brooklyn hit-and-run

This looks like an endorsement, but its not -- the wood of the Daily News should not be for sale! Our staff was mortified to wake up to a front page covered by a deceptive political ad for two days straight. Shame on Heath Freeman and Alden for selling our good name for a buck.

The paper has made no endorsement in this race -- in which polls close tomorrow. But this ad, paid for by an Anthropic-backed PAC, sure makes it look like we have a favorite.

And since Alden changed our iconic headline fonts earlier this year to a generic, anywhere-USA typeface, who could blame a reader for mistaking this faux-wood for an endorsement?

This week is the first at the Daily News since Heath Freeman's Alden Capital laid off our entire print production staff. It's embarrassing to open the paper we work so hard for each day and find mistakes like this. @andrewjulien, is this the level of editing we can count on?

"New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s gambit of flattering President Donald Trump ... only worked so well because of the blood, sweat and tears that Daily Newsers since 1919 have put into making the paper a respected brand." cityandstateny.com/opinion/2…

Last week, a Daily News reader wrote to one of The News' oldest institutions -- the Voice of the People -- to express his dismay over Alden's decision to lay off nearly a third of our staff. Orders from management were "don't print it"

In reality, he ordered the censorship of any readers doing just that: asking questions about the future of their hometown newspaper. He silenced the "Voice of the People" when it was critical of the layoffs.

Heath Freeman and Randall Smith of Alden Global Capital, the private equity raiders who bought the News and hired Julien, have shown time and again that they are not worthy of the history of the Daily News brand. Censoring "Voice of the People" is simply the latest example.
