After the Celtics took Game 7 of the 1984 NBA Finals, both Pat Riley and Larry Bird made it clear that K.C. Jones was the real difference-maker.

It is shameful that @nytimes @TheAthletic buried the fact that the biggest punishment in NBA history was the result of an investigation by journalist @PabloTorre. And to call it the result of a "podcast episode" is a further slap in the face. He won a Pulitzer for this story and they call it an "episode" instead of, at the outset -- crediting him with exposing this scandal. Really really lame.

The Dead were one of 32 performers at the historic 1969 festival in Bethel, New York, where they played to a crowd of roughly 460,000. Faulty electrical wiring mixed with rainfall caused a literally electrifying performance, with the Dead getting shocked at the mere touch of their instruments. Despite this, the band wrapped their set with a 36-minute-long "Turn On Your Love Light." In Jerry’s own words, “we were terrible.”

"The "Philadelphia Inquirer" found dangerous chemicals in the astroturf of the now-demolished Veterans Stadium.
Six Phillies who played on that turf, Tug McGraw, Darren Daulton, John Vukovich, John Oates, Ken Brett, and David West have died of a rare and aggressive brain cancer. The six players all died in their 40's or 50's, roughly three times the rate of the average adult population.
Even more alarming was their mutual diagnosis of glioblastoma.
The Phillies sold pieces of turf in sealed 4 x 4" bags.
The "Inquirer" purchased four of those on eBay.
Samples analyzed by two separate labs found 16 types of dangerous chemicals in the turf.
They are referred to as “forever chemicals” because they don’t break down and can last in the human body for years.
The US federal government estimates that 12,000 artificial turf fields containing PFAS or “forever chemicals” exist in USA.

Hall of Famer Don Nelson, three-time NBA Coach of the Year and five times a champion as a player with the Boston Celtics, has died at age 86.
The family has issued this statement:
“On Sunday morning our beloved husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather Don Nelson peacefully went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family. Throughout his last week, friends and family encircled him with love, sharing the blessing of his friendship and revisiting treasured memories.”
