We remember those murdered on October 7, hold close the families forever changed by that day, and stand with Jewish communities still carrying its trauma.
We must continue confronting antisemitism and ensuring Jewish New Yorkers can live safely and proudly.
May their memories be a blessing.

Last week, @NYCCTaskForce Co-Chairs Inna Vernikov & @EricDinowitzNYC warmly welcomed courageous Muslim leaders & allies of the Jewish community to City Hall: Mansoor Laghari of the Global Youth Unity Project and Anila Ali of the American Muslim and Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council. We had a meaningful conversation about how to amplify and encourage moderate Muslim voices, & ways to unify to fight extremism. We have exciting plans ahead and look forward to building bridges together in NYC. 🌉

We thank @SpeakerMenin, Task Force to Combat Antisemitism Chairs @EricDinowitzNYC and @InnaVernikov, Health Committee Chair @Lynn4NYC and our partners at AJMA for convening a roundtable discussion about antisemitism in healthcare. Yesterday, chairs of the Task Force to Combat Antisemitism @InnaVernikov & @EricDinowitzNYC , jointly with Health Committee chair @Lynn4NYC met with leaders from the healthcare industry & Jewish advocacy groups to confront antisemitism in healthcare — a problem with a long, ugly history that has quadrupled since October 7. Jewish doctors and patients, like all doctors and patients, have a right to safe and fair treatment in a hospital facility. This was an important first step toward protecting Jewish patients, doctors, nurses and medical workers from discrimination and an unsafe environment. We are grateful to all the hospitals, agencies and advocacy groups who showed up and we look forward to working with them on behalf of Jewish New Yorkers on this important issue, @TheAJMAofficial @AJCGlobal @NJACLaw @brandeiscenter @NorthwellHealth @MountSinaiNYC @ADL @UJAfedNY @JewishBoard @AuschwitzJCF

This honor of an antisemitic and racist individual at the Met Gala should never have happened. Thank you to @SpeakerMenin and others
for spearheading this issue and being in the forefront of the effort to get Galliano's name withdrawn. nytimes.com/2026/08/31/style…

After my numerous and lengthy meetings and conversations with The Met, I am pleased that they have agreed to not honor John Galliano.
From the beginning, I have told them that I strongly disagreed with this decision, and at this rising time of antisemitism, it had served as a gut punch to the Jewish community. This is the correct decision, as the harm and pain this was causing was simply unacceptable.
Museums such as The Met must be held to a high standard of inclusiveness and tolerance, and I am pleased that they have listened to the concerns I have raised and reacted with the right decision.
As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, and as the first Jewish speaker of the New York City Council, this decision was personal to me, and the Jewish community and I felt a strong obligation to speak out.

NYC is home to the largest Jewish population in the U.S.
Jewish attorneys have long made up a significant share of New York's legal profession. The complete absence of Jewish representation on the Mayor's Advisory Committee on the Judiciary is neither representative nor inclusive. It is deeply concerning and cannot be dismissed as an oversight.
We stand with New York City's Jewish Bar Associations in urging Mayor Mamdani to correct this omission. nbcnewyork.com/news/politics…
The Task Force is grateful to @CMSusanZhuang,
@CMMercedesCD46 & @CMCHRISBANKS42 for speaking out against Mamdani’s divisive language and standing with the Jewish community.

The Task Force Co-chairs, @EricDinowitzNYC and @InnaVernikov , met with Sheina Gutnick, the daughter of Reuben Morrison, who was murdered in Bondi Beach while fighting back and shielding others from the shooting. We call on @ManhattanDA Alvin Bragg to deliver JUSTICE to the victim of this heinous assault of a 23 year old woman on the subway in a brutal act of antisemitism.
We expect to see this case prosecuted to THE FULLEST EXTENT of the law.

Disgraceful and disgusting.
Whether it’s a swastika or college students trying to ban Hillels, antisemitism must have no home anywhere.
Thank you @nyuniversity for addressing and speaking out against this swiftly.
