unrelated but I’ve heard the Blue Jays are really interested in Seo-jun Moon for some of the IFA money that came with Straw. He’s a pitcher who was supposed to go top 3 in KBO draft. Also think we like Jun-hyun Park although I think he’s alittle less likely as of rn.
This deal is now official, Blue Jays have ventured to Europe for another signing, I think there will be some more IFA news soon…
Kwon was in Toronto over the weekend watching the Reds series. The deal is now official. Bonus is a touch over 300K
I’ve heard this being a possibility for awhile now, teams haven’t been given their bonus pool yet which many in the industry thought to be a sign. Bad timing for the Jays as Fortunato and Montas looked to be on the horizon but this could signal a much needed change in the space.
The 2026–27 international signing period is not expected to take place, according to multiple industry sources.

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed another European prospect over the weekend. They signed Dutch shortstop Cayro Hazel. He played this season in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse with the Hoofddorp Pioniers
Adding onto this - the Jays recently hired an IFA scout based in Taiwan, seems as though they are really digging into the Pacific Rim with their remaining IFA money.
Blue Jays were one of the teams heavily involved here before he ultimately decided on staying in Korea. Don’t be surprised if the Jays land another pacific rim talent later on this year.
