We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the tragic news regarding Simon Mullings of @HF_LawCentre. He was a legend of housing law and a true leader in our community. We send our love and condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. He will be sorely missed by all.
The @NewJournal have featured an article written by our director discussing how squatters highlight a broken housing system. For the full article follow this link: edition.pagesuite.com/html5/…

Well done to @MarcinBrajta. High Court found the RBKC decision to refuse accommodation pending review unlawful and in breach of equalities duties. A rare and special success in this type of case. Thank you to Kevin Gannon, @NickBano and @angharadmamonk! bailii.org/cgi-bin/format.cg……)

Honoured to help celebrate 50 years of Camden Community Law Centre last night.
We paid tribute to the visionary generation who created @NWLondonLC with a brilliant speech from Angela Mason.
Deeply grateful for their decades of work on the side of justice & community.
Happy 50th Birthday @NWLondonLC! 🥳
Leader of @CamdenCouncil, @Georgia_Gould: "there is no bigger failure in democracy than #AccessToJustice being the preserve of those with resources. The fact the Law Centre is there is an absolute lifeline."
The @NewJournal have written a lovely feature about history of our Law Centre in advance of celebrating our 50th anniversary this Thursday. Long live the @LawCentres!

1/ Decision by local authority to offer benefit-capped single mother accommodation 175 miles away from her lifelong home in East London found unlawful in important decision by the Court of Appeal on out-of-borough offers for homeless applicants. caselaw.nationalarchives.gov…
CCLC successfully concluded a Tribunal claim for an older person who was made redundant without recourse to formal procedures after 10 years of service. The parties reached a settlement prior to the hearing for the outstanding notice pay due. Well done, Diane!
Our housing team, led by @DSBernardi & @JEHitchens as Counsel, are challenging Camden Council's refusal to accommodate a destitute migrant during the pandemic using emergency powers. They dispute there is an immediate risk to his life. We believe this violates his human rights.
Permission granted for a JR against Camden Council's refusal to accommodate my client under the #EveryoneIn scheme. Big shout out @JEHitchens for drafting brilliant grounds.

It’s extraordinary when you think about it - this deal will shape a vital relationship for UK for decades to come and Parliament spent years tearing itself apart over Brexit debates as the political system appeared to many to have a collective nervous breakdown
The pandemic and Brexit are creating serious legal difficulties for our already vulnerable clients. Thank you @tomfoot1 @NewJournal for highlighting these important issues.
