Delighted to move this motion calling on the Government to establish a central unit to monitor, assess and address abuse of councillors, improve general public’s understanding of councillors, and to continue supporting councils tackling abuse and intimidation at a local level.
The LGA passed a ‘Civility in public life motion’ last week, calling on @GOVUK to improve the public’s understanding of the #councillor role and to establish a permanent central unit to combat abuse of councillors.
