This week the @WHO hosts its 2nd Global meeting n Skin NTDs in Geneva. We're proud of our work contributing towards crucial conversation through presentations & posters at the conference.Over the next few days, we shall be highlighting our work & amplifying messages #skinntds2025
Today, we have seen the poster from operational research: How can we move from tokenistic inclusion of persons affected in research, to a culture where persons affected by NTDs are valued contributors to scientific advancements?"

Last week, BSMS Global Health & Infection hosted a film screening and Q&A with Noma survivor Mulikat Okanlawon to highlight the devastating effects of this preventable disease. #WorldNTDDay #BeatNTDs #UniteActEliminate
Noma is fatal in 90% of cases. Survivors often face severe disfigurement, pain, and stigma. It primarily affects poverty-stricken areas of Africa. Awareness and research are essential.
Thank you to @MSF_uk, Elysium Noma Survivors Association, @BSMSMedSchool and @Inediz for collaborating on this vital event. Together, we can #BeatNTDs and #UniteActEliminate.

🧵Today marks World NTD Day! NTDs are a group of preventable and treatable diseases that affect about 1.5 billion people around the world. These are present worldwide, but the burden falls disproportionally on the global south #WorldNTDDay #BeatNTDs #UniteActEliminate
Researchers across the GHRU stress that countries in Africa facing social political instability bear a higher burden of NTDs, and innovative technologies to address this are key 👉nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
Today, the @WHO is calling on everybody, including leaders and communities, to #UniteActEliminate to free the estimated 1.5 billion people, in the world’s most vulnerable communities, from a vicious cycle of disease and poverty and to #BeatNTDs
In the wake of threats to funding and aid, research in this thread demonstrates how continued investment can be transformative to local and global funding and commitment can be made for ending NTDs worldwide. #BeatNTDs
