To the Ohio Supreme court we go. School vouchers hurt the average Ohioan. They take money away from rural districts and funnels them to private schools that most have no access to.
#BREAKING: An Ohio appeals court unanimously ruled Thursday that the state’s EdChoice private-school voucher program violates the Ohio Constitution, affirming a lower court decision in a lawsuit backed by hundreds of public school districts. nbc4i.co/4zABVUI

.@JamesTalarico: I want to get back to the kind of capitalism we had in the middle of the 20th century in this country.
I want competition, but it’s got to be fair competition.
We’ve got to take on these monopolies, this consolidation, because again it’s fundamentally anti-capitalist.
Right now, our tax system literally taxes work more than it taxes wealth.
I’m advocating for a return to original capitalist principles where we actually reward work instead of wealth—an economy that creates fewer trillionaires and more millionaires.
And now today Trumps speak is the norm.
It’s easy to forget how quickly culture changes.
I fear for the country my future daughter will inherit.

GOP Sen. Mike Lee: “If anyone spoke to my wife, or my daughter, or my mother, or any of my five sisters, the way Mr. Trump has spoken to women, I wouldn’t hire that person, wouldn’t want to be associated with that person, and I certainly don’t think I’d be comfortable hiring that person to be the leader of the free world.”
Who cares about basic facts?
Right @Eric_Schmitt ?
The way the Amy Klobuchar and Jack Smith just clowned the F out of @Eric_Schmitt right now is EPIC!
He accused Smith of being in Atlanta for a Hawks game and warned him not to perjure himself.
Smith was at an Iowa Hawkeyes game to watch Caitlin Clark.
As would be 90% of the public
I'm on board with this rule. foxnews.com/politics/sen-ken…

Breaking news: US Supreme Court blocks Missouri from using 7R-1D congressional map for the 2026 midterms.
No noted dissents.
So maybe we should take this pretty seriously.

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.
Stealing Valor to make one of the most tragic days in American history about himself is very on brand for Trump.
Trump claims he was basically lifted out of the rubble on 9/11: "Two fireman, big strong guys, they grabbed me under the arms -- 'got to get our of here!' -- and they literally lifted me up, and they started running with me."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Trump was miles from Ground Zero on 9/11, speaking by phone from his office. He visited the area days later. His story of being lifted from the rubble by firefighters first appeared in 2021 and lacks corroborating evidence. politifact.com/factchecks/202… usatoday.com/story/news/fac… newsweek.com/fact-check-did…
To those married men who think the grass may be greener on the other side. I encourage you to see what 3 months post divorce looks like for a millionaire owner.. I don’t like your odds in the current market.

I think the "trans athlete debate" might be the current culture war that is most emblematic of the primary divide in this country right now. The reality vs the completely fabricated.
On one side, you have something that literally just isn't happening: Trans women infiltrating women's sports en masse. It isn't happening.
On the other side, you have troglodytic conservatives pretending publicly to care about women and children when they have spent every bit of political cache they have doing the exact opposite. Abolishing women's reproductive rights, stripping away food assistance programs that overwhelmingly support children.
Their problem, however, is massively twofold (at minimum):
1. Only the biggest losers on the planet really are willing to go in public and argue about this. Of ALL THE NBA PLAYERS IN HISTORY you have Enes Kanter (sucked, career grifter) and Royce White (scared of planes, can't win an election, career grifter) stumping for your cause. They are loud and FOX News, Outkick, et al. will platform them, but no one actually likes them. Royce White couldn't even win a primary this year. Not exactly inspiring figures with legitimate rallying cries.
2. Republican men only have so much time and energy to pretend they care about women's sports. This group deviates from the strange, obsessed anti-pedophile crowd who can spend all hours of the day and night pretending their core value set is to protect children, but worship our dual threat pedophile and pedophile protector president. Those guys have some real energy, but you're just not going to get these morons to pretend they're watching women's sports. Their argument on the youth level leans on this family man protecting the young persona, but that putters out when these loser weirdo's daughters progress into adolescence and their focus becomes no longer about "protecting" these young girls, but turning the young women they've become into the suppressed, meek wives they want them to now be.
Giant losers, all of them.

Quantifying Christianity with material consumption is the most American possible thing to do
To my fellow Americans. Quit looking at politicians like some sort of fucking ruling class. Get involved at the local levels and learn for yourself. We are not electing our best officials.
