I can't recall ever seeing so many highway billboard advertisements for U.S. Senate while traveling north of Lansing on US-127 as I saw today, vs any other past U.S. Senate race I've covered (2018, 2020 & 2024). The ratio was 9-2 in favor of Abdul El-Sayed over Mike Rogers.

Outside of billboards was, for being ruby-red Republican turf along that stretch of highway north of Lansing, was otherwise virtually all GOP signs otherwise

House Democrats talked big in September when they announced $733,000 in television advertising reservations backing their candidate challenging House Speaker Matt Hall, but the move now looks like merely a ploy to bait Republicans into spending money. pro.stateaffairs.com/mi/elec…

There are some realities of a Constitutional Convention that are well known if voters approve calling one in 2027, but there are still many unknowns that have groups opposing Proposal 2026-1 contingency planning for potential passage. bit.ly/4zzuHjJ

Whenever I think every line of attack or insult has been used by either side in this U.S. Senate race, someone drops another line..
Vance says Michigan “deserves better than a little weasel who should shut his mouth and show a little gratitude to the country” re: El-Sayed

Rogers' fundraising for this quarter is large increase from $2.89M during the previous quarter 4/1 through 6/30. From looking back at my previous reporting, it's more than double the highest fundraising Rogers has had in 2026, or 2024, in a quarter ($4.19M, July-September 2024)

Small update here. When House Dems pared their original buy of $733K to $498K a week ago, they dropped all buys for the week of 10/14 - 10/20. So, no ads for now. Perhaps a week from today. Methinks not, however. This "buy" has all the hallmarks of politricks.
Decision time for Michigan House Democrats. They have about $500,000 in ads reserved scheduled to start today in the district of House Speaker Matt Hall, R-Richland Township. There's no sign of the ad yet. We'll see if it appears or if they scale back/drop the reservation.
