NY's cap-and-invest program must be in place by Dec. 31, 2028. Until then, the $2B Sustainable Future Program can deliver lower bills, healthier buildings, cleaner air, good union jobs & resilient communities. nyforcleanpower.quorum.us/ca…

The Trump administration's unlawful pay-to-not-play scheme to pressure companies to forego planned offshore wind projects hurts our ability to meet our energy needs, reduce emissions and to create good paying jobs.
It's Climate Week, and we're never going to stop fighting for our planet.
That's why my office and @GovKathyHochul are suing to stop the Trump administration from illegally canceling critical offshore wind projects in New York to fund fossil fuel projects.
Offshore wind is growing worldwide—it could soon generate enough power for over 450 million homes across the globe—but the Trump administration has blocked wind projects that would create jobs and deliver affordable power, even as energy demand and prices surge. on.nrdc.org/4rmfUGm
Proud of team @NRDC @CleanFERC #NRDCMidwest, our partners @SierraClub @Earthjustice and others. Kudos also to @dananessel for representing #Michigan in this challenge. I predict this marks the beginning of the end for the Trump administration’s effort to revive coal.

President Trump already broke his campaign promise to cut utility bills in half within his first 18 months in office—instead, electricity rates are up around 16%. Backed by this Republican Congress, his energy agenda is leaving us with dirtier air and higher costs.

Thank you New York Attorney General @TishJames for helping lead the fight against the Trump administration’s billion dollar attack on clean power, good paying jobs, and lower energy bills. apnews.com/article/trump-off…

Good morning with good news: US clean generation set three major records in March!
RE & nuclear were a record high 52.4% of US power.
Fossil fuels share plunged to 47.6%, lowest share ever.
RE (35.1%) generated more electricity than gas (34.4%) for a month for 1st time.

South Fork Wind is setting the standard for U.S. offshore wind!
Producing enough energy to power 70k homes and generating electricity 99% of the days it has been in operation, it’s delivering reliable energy while creating over 1k jobs. Read more here: nyowa.org/blog/south-fork-wi…

FACTCHECK – FALSE: US energy secretary Chris Wright thinks coal will still be world's top source of electricity "when I die". But solar is set to overtake coal in the early 2030s – and wind soon after.
America’s clean energy future is being held back by outdated policies and political interference—not by economics or technology. Americans deserve lower utility bills, good-paying jobs, cleaner air, and communities that prosper from transitioning to clean energy. on.nrdc.org/3QelgF1

“Once again, the Trump administration is halting offshore wind projects that were already approved and underway, pulling the rug out from under workers for the second time this year,” said Brendan Griffith, President, NYCCLC, AFL-CIO.
The Trump administration will look for any excuse to continue its assault on clean energy — and the thousands of good-paying jobs these projects bring — but there is no credible justification for this stoppage.
The real threat to national security is in undermining our energy independence.
We are working with other impacted states to review every available option to get these projects back on track.

President Trump has attacked clean energy once again with an attempt to halt offshore wind projects that would deliver more than 1.7 gigawatts of clean energy to Americans.

Replying to @GovKathyHochul
@GovKathyHochul is spot on - offshore wind means thousands of good union jobs, clean power, and energy reliability and security for our state. Political attacks won't stop NY from leading on clean energy and standing up for our workers.

The Trump administration should use this court ruling as a wake-up call: it’s time to stop illegal actions and get out of the way of a clean energy future.
