In addition to her work on women’s rights, Governor Hochul signed a law this month that prohibited New Yorkers under the age of 21 from buying semiautomatic rifles.

“This comprehensive package will close loopholes, give law enforcement the tools they need to prevent easy access to guns, and stop the sale of dangerous weapons to 18-year-olds…Thoughts and prayers won’t fix it, but this will,” Governor Hochul said, of the legislation.
