IF this imported ground beef that's receiving special tariff treatment is indeed from Brazil, which has NOT been confirmed by this administration, @nmpf's president and CEO Gregg Doud tells me it will never make it to the retail shelf.
“That would all have to be blended together, and essentially all of that would go into food service or fast food — fast food hamburger,” Doud says.
Asked whether the imported beef would actually reach grocery store shelves, Doud says no, pointing instead to two narrow outlets.
“You might, the other place you might see some of it is in a can of chunky soup, like Campbell’s Chunky Soup,” Doud says. “That would be about the only two places you would see it.”

A report from the UK, where you've got your @Alpro Coco, your @CalifiaFarms Oat, etc. What you don't have is any of these plant-based beverages calling themselves "milk" -- yet somehow, consumers seem to know what it is. Last week, the White House announced a reciprocal trade agreement with Jordan that delivers some real wins for dairy. While U.S. dairy exporters already have zero-tariff access to Jordan under the existing U.S.-Jordan Free Trade Agreement, the new deal adds important protections for common cheese names and preempts burdensome dairy facility registration requirements and other nontariff barriers. 👏👏👏
