Everyone should’ve allowed to be themselves, no matter how they identify and who they love.
For the Netherlands, equal rights for and protection of LGBTIQ+ people are key priorities in our work at the MFA.
On #ComingOutDay, UN Independent Expert Graeme Reid and 🇳🇱 Human Rights diplomat Laura Hoekstra highlight why protecting these rights worldwide remains essential.

Two CompSci students joined Ambassador @RoderickWols for ‘Ambassador for a Day’, joining meetings on women in agriculture and cybersecurity, and with Embassy staff. They brought fresh perspectives and curiosity, underscoring women empowerment. #InternationalDayoftheGirl

Inspiring visit to Pamarawan: once a village on land, today an island-due to land deterioration & elevated sea levels. Working to protect the island and regrow protective mangrove trees, with help of Dutch experts & nature based solutions @NLinPhilippines @RVO_Int_Ond @DutchMFA

Together with Estonian colleague @Tsahkna and 🇵🇭 🇨🇦 🇯🇵 🇪🇺 🇧🇭, we hosted a session on maritime security. Our oceans connect countries and economies around the world. When sea routes are disrupted, the impact is felt far beyond the water - affecting trade, energy and food prices.
Today, Amb. @RoderickWols presented his credentials to President @bongbongmarcos formally assuming his role as Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Philippines🇵🇭
His tenure begins as we near the end of a landmark year celebrating 75 years of NL-PH relations. 🇵🇭🇳🇱
Ambassador Wols looks forward to building on this strong foundation and to carry this meaningful friendship forward.🤝

A breakthrough and a win for both sides 🇪🇺🇵🇭
This deal deepens our ties with one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic economies. Huge room to grow beyond today's trade of ~ €18B in goods, €10B in services.

Spoke to President Marcos of the Philippines @bongbongmarcos.
We just agreed on a 🇪🇺🇵🇭 free trade deal!
This comes just 3 years after my visit to Manila to relaunch the negotiations.
I want to thank @MarosSefcovic for yet another trade success.

Worried about yesterday’s shipping incident off Palawan’s coast: dangerous actions like these question the freedom of sea routes that matter to fisherfolk’s welfare and regional stability. International law, UNCLOS, is clear & to be respected 🇳🇱🇸🇽 @NLinPhilippines @MinBZ @EUAmbPH
