VICTORY! HB793/SB836 was defeated for the 2025 legislative session. This bill intended to deny undocumented students access to public education and provoke a legal challenge to Plyler v. Doe, denying K-12 public education to students nationwide. Today’s win is a victory for Tennessee and the entire country. This win belongs to the people—and most importantly, our students.
