The Biden admin fully ended any sort of theory of mind that there's a direct relationship between doing good/popular stuff and approval from voters. That's no longer the case.
The Biden admin did a whole host of things voters claimed to want (and that polled incredibly well) and nobody gave a shit.
No spoilers, but there is a bit of casting in this show that is the most inspired decision since the release of unrelated Belgian techno anthem "Pump Up the Jam".
Marvel’s “VisionQuest” is earning glowing first reactions following a surprise screening of its first episode at #NYCC.
Members of the press are calling it “a worthy successor to 'WandaVision',” an “Easter egg-filled mystery that starts and ends beautifully” and a “very rewarding” experience.

Very excited for the inevitable Variety/Deadline article about the Digger social media manager who has just been going hard in the trenches all weekend. We must salute this hero properly.
Handing a print out of all of GDT's Digger tweets to my dad to get him to watch the cat while the wife and I go to the movies like when you brought a doctor's note to gym class.
Without a doubt the best album of the year to reference former senator Jeff Flake
Album is officially out! kylegordon.lnk.to/kylegordon…

Steely Dan - Schlitz Beer Radio Jingle from 70's
This is the best commercial jingle a band has ever made. No debate.

The thing about these "Democratic politician was MEAN" stories is that a lot of Democratic staffers deserve to be stuffed into a locker
Since 1964, the Democratic Party has largely moved from a southern party to a northern one. That’s starting to change, and many see @Ossoff and @AndyBeshearKY as faces of that movement.
This week’s @Newsweek cover features my two profiles unpacking the solutions each man offers.

Current Young People are always cool snobs with secret knowledge that are going to change the world and Current 40 Year Olds are always annoying sell-outs who don't get it. Nothing about this is remotely interesting.
I see we're hitting the "kids resent their parents for putting their activism of their own kids" part of the 1970s redux at the same times as the "fuel crisis due to a Middle East quagmire" part of the 1970s redux.

This is one of the best moments of satire in The Dark Knight Returns which was sadly neutered by the movie. Both of these characters seem to make sense... until the very last sentence. Miller is seen as right-wing but skewers both sides effectively.

A lot of people give this cameraman flack for supposedly trivializing the events with this shot, but I would struggle to think of any other footage that better encapsulates the stark divide between the old world and the new so much as this clip. It is legitimately powerful.

We mock the Red Scare but tbf, there was literally a member of HUAC in Congress who was a Soviet spy. So like

The current rejection of The Wire has to do with rigid ideology clashing with a show that dismissed that kind of thinking with characters and plot.
Everything in The Wire was about tradeoffs, and how even when the “right” decisions were made, there were still consequences.
The sad thing about this conversation regarding The Wire is that it is clear that many of us don’t think creatively anymore. Instead we think in broad strokes. We lack nuance.
We want to abolish police but can’t answer the question of enforcement alternatives. We live to critique and to not provide solutions.
The greatest show in modern television taught us that our entire society operates on frailties. It taught us that our country allowed a major city to functionally become a failed state. With all that all people got was:
It’s copaganda.
