Right now, HR 29, is being considered by Congress. Also known as the Laken Riley Act, this is a dangerous piece of legislation that exploits personal tragedy, unjustly targets immigrants, and guts due process.
This bill would mandate immigration detention for some undocumented people who have not been convicted of a crime—or, in some instances, have not even been charged with one. If passed, it will be handing the incoming Trump administration the tools it needs to enact mass detentions, deportations, and family separations and undermine a core American value.
Instead of falling prey to these kinds of cynical policies, elected officials must look to real solutions that improve safety, fairness in our communities. Call your senators and congresspeople to urge them to vote no on this harmful bill: 202-224-3121

Reminder: Everybody deserves equal access to health care, including DACA recipients.
🚨BREAKING: A federal judge blocked certain #DACA recipients & other eligible individuals' access to the Affordable Care Act. The preliminary injunction covers the 19 states that challenged the Biden administration’s Final Rule.
This ruling is disappointing & wrong on the law.

President Biden has the ability to take action now that protects TPS holders, DACA recipients, and hardworking families who've spent years contributing to our communities.
I'm calling on him to finish that work and give immigrant families the certainty they're counting on.

Last week the Biden admin finalized the asylum ban announced in June - undermining U.S. asylum law & denying fair access to humanitarian protection for vulnerable individuals & families.

.@POTUS' expanded asylum ban is a dangerous step backward, leaving more people to face death, persecution, or abuse after being blocked from safety at the U.S. border.
We have a moral & legal obligation to protect access to asylum in this country.
